We live a short bus ride away and our friends live round the corner, so we have had several meals there over the last year or so. Every experience has been excellent. Last night we had village salad, pear salad, trout and lamb shanks - all wonderful, and the free ice cream dessert was a lovely surprise!

If I could give ten stars to this place, I would. Impeccable food, excellent customer service, comforting and cozy atmosphere for a romantic date, friends dinner, and a solo cup of coffee!Absolute must to try feta shrimps, lamb with pomegranate sauce, and eggplant Parmigiano (and anything else that they have on the menu. Honestly, the food is just fantastic!!!)This restaurant is a hidden gem on St Clair. You're visited once you'll want to come back for more!

A first for some of us, but a happy return for others. This is a charming - family run Italian/Mediterranean restaurant. Can't wait to return. We ordered beet salad and spanikopita to start. Eggplant parmesana, mushroom risotto, trout, tagliatelle were all fantastic. Service was warm friendly and attentive. They even offered some complimentary treats. All for a very reasonable price. We will return soon.
We had the best time on Friday at Barista and Chef. The staff is so friendly and the food absolutely delicious. We had the pear salad, rainbow Trout, chicken and ribs. free dessert added at the end was a lovely touch. we always go to this fabulous neighbourhood restaurant for special occasions.
We absolutely loved our dinner at Barista and Chef. We were reuniting with friends we had travelled with in Tuscany and we wanted to find a charming Mediterranean style restaurant. The service was excellent- everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Delicious food - just as good as our meals in Tuscany. We were delighted with the background music too - not too loud as we have experienced at other hip restaurants. Thank you to the Barista and Chef team!!?

Barista and Chef is a small restaurant that does a great job looking after their customers. They accommodate food allergies and provide alternative choices. The servers are top notch and very pleasant. The food was very tasty and plentiful which is unusual these days. The noise level was refreshingly quiet even with the restaurant full of diners. Overall, Barista and Chef is a great place to be for regular and special occasion dining.

Always a treat to dine here. Had the chicken breast dish that was incredibly tasty. Always great service and an interesting menu. And maybe one of the last places that serves free warmed bread and dip before the rest of the food arrives. Feels like a “neighborhood place “that attracts people from all over. 
By far, this is the best restaurant on St Clair West.From the amazing food and drinks to the nice background music and comfortable chairs. I've seen this place keeping the same high standars as the first day they opened. Run by the most wonderful owners who excel at customer service. Highly recommended for any occasion ?

We're from BC, 70 and prefer small share plates for dinner. Little did we know how great this place would be when we stumbled upon it! SO delicious. 5 stars. Recommend the spinach salad, feta shrimp amd eggplant parm appetizers.
