Loved everything we got! Dessert was really good and although the portions look small, they’re quite filling. Would definitely come back to try the rest of their menu.

It was a cold day and having cold calamansi juice was not an option but in the Philippines there's also a hot version so the server said she'll use her steamer though they have not served it in this manner. She did a great job. She had initiative, she served with a smile and even chatted with us a bit more. This is the 2nd time I've been here and in both instances, we had a good experience. The food is great. This is probably why they're Michelin listed. Keep it up.

The Bangus Sisig was slightly vinegary which gave it a unique taste; it did feel a bit heavy. I’m not sure it was worth it as it was quite eggy. No rice is offered with the dish. We ordered it as extra, which I recommend.

Their spaghetti was unique as its signature for Filipino spaghetti to be sweeter. It tasted like a home dish you’d make as a teen at home - comforting and simple. Okay to try but not quite what you’d go out of your way to order.

Honestly, we did not enjoy the Steak Tartare. Their sourdough was rock solid and hurt to bite into and the tartare was greased and heavy rather than light and fresh. Would not recommend.

The Tuna Kinilaw was tasty - unique and very different than any tuna dish I’ve had. I recommend you try.

The standout of the day for us was the Ube Bae. It was by far the best ube drink I’ve ever had. A must try. Their pie was mediocre; I personally did not enjoy it much.

It was unfortunate that they did not have Sinigang as I was looking forward to trying it. They really should make it a standard on their menu as it’s such a signature Filipino dish.

The spacing of the restaurant is small, so I found my outerwear falling onto the ground often due to the small size of the chair. Not fun. But great atmosphere with toned down lighting.

Overall, it’s a restaurant you may try here and there for some warm home-like food, but not a place that offers a standout culinary experience. I love Filipino food, especially their unique soups, so I had high expectations. But I truly appreciate that a Filipino restaurant exists and is being recognized in Toronto.

[2023 Feb] Brunch food was not particularly unique, and know plenty of other Filipino restaurants offering the same or better at a more competitive price. Will need to try dinner service to understand the Michelin gourmand mention…

The environment of BB's Diner is super cosy, nostalgic, and aesthetically pleasing with décor that reminds you of home. The people are extremely warm and welcoming and have great taste in music. The food is beyond delicious and the silog dishes are divinely mouthwatering. The fried chicken, bangus, and longganisa are all fantastic, plus house made. The ube and biko lattes are so tasty and craveable. I made a reservation when I went with a bigger group of friends which was helpful for getting a table. When I went with just my partner and I, we just walked in and there was seating for two people at the bar area. Both places are nice to sit at. I highly recommend that everyone take a trip to Parkdale to enjoy a BBs meal because it is so worth it. Maraming salamat to the whole team there.

Sad to review low on this cozy, cutesy Parkdale spot, but seating your guests without advising them on unavailable menu items and yet leaving them to decide on dishes — only for them to be told those options are not available — set us (my partner and I) up for a a disappointing beginning and experience tonight…

Followed up by a bottled beer not being poured for me as the guest was frankly a rookie move for the server / bartender responsible for us,

Finally topping it off with a veggie dish priced at 25$ that was no more than 4 (small) bites — a sliver of a squash w mixed others — is bold and not cool.

What made it strange was to see my partner’s dish - which was the same dish but with chicken — yet he received double the amount of veggies... not sure what was going on with that but seems miscalculated

So: 125$ for.. 2 beers, 1 soda, 1 app (tartare is delicious and gorgeously presented) and 2 mains (and 15% on the subtotal) is a stretch, especially because we left hungry.

Bb’s, please do better! I’m a neighbour and truly want to support, but this is simply unacceptable (and from your other reviews… a bit of a pattern ?!?)

Alas… to prompt a 25% tip on the machine is delulu… as if

Came here solo, looking for something tasty, unique and not stupid expensive for Thursday pick-me-up. I definitely got what I came for 🙂‍↕️.

There were so many menu items I wanted to try and truly didn’t know how to choose. So I went for the 5 course tasting menu. Portion sizes were just enough for one person and I was stuffed at the end.

Each course was unique and very flavourful. I’d be lying if I said I remember the name of every dish, but my fave was the stir fried noodles and shrimp dish. It felt like a warm hug - perfect texture.

Runner up was a taro chips and coconut cream & tuna dish. I would have that everyday if I could.

Also had a ginger mocktail which was refreshing. They gave me a complementary ube mocktail that reminded me of taro bubble tea - it was sweet and milky - lovely!

My only feedback is for the service - there was a female and male server who served me. The man was great - chill. However I felt rushed by the female server. She would ask a question and barely let me respond before moving on to the next thing. I felt like she was trying to hurry me out of the place, but the restaurant was empty almost the entire time I was there. So that was odd.

That said, I enjoyed my experience and the atmosphere of the place. It’s a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. Lights dim enough to relax your eyes, but bright enough to see your food haha.
Highly recommend! 😊

Amazing brunch menu! Good service and atmosphere as well. The Chiksilong with fried chicken was very good, and the portion you get for the price is definitely worth it.

I’ve given BB’s a try multiple times and while I absolutely love the ambiance and the atmosphere of this place, the food is definitely overrated and overpriced.

We got the cornsilog, the rice and eggs were cold. The food itself was also a little bland. It’s a cute spot but I don’t think it’s Michelin worthy at all which I’m very sorry to say.

Service has always been decent. Not great and also not bad.

I was really excited to try this place after reading so many positive reviews, but as a Filipino, I left feeling quite disappointed. While the vibe of the restaurant is wonderful and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food unfortunately didn’t hit the mark for authenticity.

The flavors were quite bland overall. Specifically:

Fried Chicken: It was dry on the inside and had a burnt aftertaste.

Lechon Kawali: Most of the serving was fat with very little meat to enjoy.

Filipino Spaghetti: It lacked that signature Pinoy sweetness and tasted under-seasoned.

I really wanted to love this spot, but the taste just wasn't there for me this time. I might give it another try in the future to see if it improves, but for now, it wasn't the authentic experience I was hoping for.

Disappointed with our brunch visit today. I had family visit from Europe and was excited to show the Filipino culture in Toronto and had high expectations for a Michelin recommended place. Despite many open tables, it was a hassle to change the table option even though we booked back in early October as the server said it was reserved for someone else. Service was very disappointing, we had to ask for our order to be taken, food didn’t come out together, and one plate was wrong. Portions were also smaller than advertised on instagram. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a pattern. Not the Michelin Gourmand experience you’d expect and definitely not worth the money. No friendly greeting, and no good bye either. Seems that they really don’t care.

As a non-Filipino, iSLAS remains my go to for both quality food and good friendly service.

The food is innovative, fresh and tastes really good! The atmosphere is cozy and nice.
The portions are very small and not well priced at all. The “large plate” showed up on a “small plate”??
The waiter waited until he took our order to then tell us they were out of 4 different menu items all of which we had planned to order.
When the waiter noticed I had tipped him a 15% gratuity he abruptly waked away from the table without a smile or saying thank you or goodbye.
We won’t be returning to Bibis anytime soon.
