Decent atmosphere and food, friendly staff, but unfortunately did not fully enjoy the food.

The french toast - I expected a bit more crispiness on the outside, but found the bread to be too soggy and spongy (almost mushy) with all the fruits and syrup on top, especially in the center.

The duck confit eggs benny was not bad, and potatoes were well seasoned. That said, the potatoes felt overcooked as the center was very dense rather than fluffy.

Café Blu Blu was the pinnacle of our experience in Toronto, our go-to spot, our madeleine de Proust. Coffee was delicious, food and brunch were great, staff was lovely, and the restaurant itself was decorated all around with drawings of our idol, Blu Blu ! I would recommend.

I went to Café Blu Blu recently for my friend’s private birthday dinner and the food and service was amazing! Compliments to the chefs and servers. Everything I ate was so good and flavourful, and the portions were huge - my favourite things were the scallops and duck. Definitely recommend and will be back! ☺️

Really wanted to like this place but had a pretty weird and underwhelming experience. Came in for an 8pm Saturday night dinner reservation to find the restaurant completely empty, no other patrons except us (first clue). Although it was unsettling, this alone wouldn't have been so bad if not for the service.

We were sat down and immediately served a pitch to help the restaurant bring more awareness about their dinner menu - weird thing to say given we haven't even ordered yet. Our server was quite aloof and seemed like he didn't want to be there. Had trouble getting his attention at times, even though there was literally no one else in the restaurant lol. At one point he started doing all his closing duties right around us, to set up for the next day, which I thought was inappropriate and distracting as we were still trying to enjoy dinner and it made us feel like we were in his way from enjoying the weekend. Server was friendly enough I guess, but his overly buddy-buddy attitude totally didn't fit the vibe of the establishment and felt honestly a little unprofessional given that the menu was on the pricier side. Mid-way through the dinner, one of the cooks got locked out and decided the best way to get back in was to loudly and repeatedly bang on the door, right beside where we were eating.

Food-wise, the braised beef cheek was actually quite tasty, though the portions on the octopus dish was this teeny tiny little tentacle. Not worth the price. The atmosphere was pretty uncomfortable the whole time, so we just gulped down our food to get out of there asap.

Hoping we just caught them on an off day, but given the experience, I wouldn't come back.

Amazing hidden gem in the Bathurst/dundas area. Chef is incredibly talented and service was top notch.

Definitely worth a repeat visit. Would recommend any seafood item on the menu.

Tons if space to sit.Incredible cafe during the day. In the evenings it gets converted to a restaurant.Right by Toronto western hospital, it’s wonderful!!
