Amazing food and service. Peking Duck is not only the best in Toronto, but the best in the world. My personal favourites include the Peking duck, shrimp toast, Grampa's Fun Guo, R&D fried rice, CSB pork bun and Wok Lobster. Love the environment and open kitchen. Signature alcoholic drinks are out of this world.

Each dish was a revelation it had a spin on a traditional Asian dish. The fried rice was the best I have ever tasted. It is a dish I will long for again. The shrimp toast was different yet same and the Vietnamese beef carpaccio was succulent and perfectly cooked melt in your mouth. Kudos to Chef Eric Chong

Everything was excellent, the waiter was attentive without hovering, the chef and their team were fantastic. The drinks from the bar were lovely as well. We had the skate wing for our main and it was perfect.

Once again we had a gastronomic experience that was fabulous. The food is beyond tasty and so unique. They offer possibly the best duck in the city. Each time we take new people there, they immediately go back. The staff and informed and informative. They are also so pleasant attentive. I would highly recommend going. I strongly suggest ordering the shrimp toast and the R&D rice. But absolutely order the duck. If you like duck it will not dissappoint.

Food was not as good as I remembered.....tried the lamb chow mein for the 1st time, very dry....had the duck which was ok, tasted better for less. It was my husband's birthday and this was told in advance when booking, also confirmed over the phone. After spending over $200.00, I would at least think they would have given him a slice of cake or a little celebratory something. What was the point in asking if we were celebrating a special occasion when there was nothing different? This took away from the overall experience. In a nutshell, you cab get better tasting food was less elsewhere with bigger portions. Ambience was good though which I guess is part of what you pay for. This time around it was Avery disappointing experience

Second time here, amazing food, chairs are comfy, Wok Lobster and the Duck are the best dishes for a reason. Really soft bao buns and creative drinks. All the servers are great and very attentive and kind. Lots of fun!

R&D's service and food was outstanding. We got Grandpa's Fun Guo, R&D Fried Rice and the duck. The dumplings were amazing and the fried rice was excellent as well. For just two people, the duck was definitely more than enough and we took some home as left overs.

Menu changed and not for the best. No french onion spring rolls. Ordered the kalbi beef bao and ended up with very chewy and fatty beef. The fried rice was good. Lamb chow mein was alright but very salty. The iberico char siu was very chewy and fatty as well. Mentioned all the concerns about the food to the waiter and he was just like “it is what it is is”. Overall, despite being a huge fan of this restaurant, this experience has been a huge let down and won't be revisiting it for a VERY long time

We love R&D! It's a favourite of ours and it has become a tradition for us to be here annually for our anniversary. Chef/owner Eric Chong is wonderful and his creations are always a joy.

The dim sum and apps were perfection. The main dishes were a bit too saucy. The fried chicken apparently had 16 different spices but they were overhwhelmed by the sweetness of the sauce they were drenched in. Also, there should be the option to order plain white rice, especially with such saucy dishes. Lovely service and nice atmosphere.

R&D is our favorite restaurant in Toronto. Until yesterday we had on our many previous visits tried almost everything on the menu except the Waygu beef so we had that as one of our dishes and thought it was outstanding. The fried rice and lava cake dessert were also very fine-.

The staff was great and the food was delicious and plentiful. The two of us ordered 2 small plates, 2 medium plates and 1 large plate and could not finish the last one, though it was quite good. All in all a great experience.

The concept is cool, but the level of food execution didn't meet the expectations set by the Michelin guide. We had fried rice, octopus, "CSB" dim sum, Broccolini and Brussels cabbage. Fried rice and octopus are a good flavor combination. Broccolini and Brussels sprouts were a total disappointment, mainly because of the sauce, which had a super intense flavor and spiciness that killed the taste of the main ingredient and overwhelmed the taste of other dishes as well. The service was good.

The food was satisfactory but priced too high for the value. We were there on our anniversary, and although the restaurant was two thirds vacant, half way through dinner they sat another couple at a table with the same lounge seat adjoining and only a foot away. This was uncomfortable for all of us. We will not return.

Overrated restaurant - was expecting a more classy environment, all the more because I have found R&D on a top-notch restaurants list from OpenTable.. Disappointed by food being fair but too spicy, music too loud.
