Wow!! I cannot believe this place wasn't packed. My husband and I tried the platter for two so we could try a bit of everything, and it was absolutely delicious! Fresh, homemade Polish food that will remind you of your childhood ❤️
Will definitely be back!

It’s a great place to relax and hang out with friends. We ordered the food recommended by the server, and it was delicious! I highly recommend the Beef Cutlets! I will definitely visit again :)

I'm not Polish so I can't say how authentic the food is but it was really good.

Small bar style restaurant serving comfort homestyle Polish food. We ordered Bigos (Polish meat/cabbage stew) and Talerz dla jednego (Mixed Platter for 1: cabbage roll, potato pancake, schnitzel, cold salad and pierogies). I preferred the Bigos dish more as it was very flavourful and the meat had a nice smoky taste. The menu specified that the Talerz dla jednego comes with 3 pierogies but we ended up getting 4 which was nice. We also shared a Czerwony barszcz z uszkami (Red borscht with dumplings) which was flavourful and generously sized. Loved the red brick inside but overall, the service here was a bit on the slower side.

Horrible service. Food came before our drinks (3 beers).
Owner / manager looks like he is completely lost and no idea how to help.
Lots of better places there to eat at like Gabbys, Polonez, Barque.

Ola is a very service minded person, she will definitely make sure you’ll have a good time, that you’ll feel very welcomed, a very kind person and takes her job quite seriously, she takes such good care of the guests, there’s nothing but goodness in her heart and mind… Ola is the best waitress I’ve ever had, no doubt what so ever. There’s not a bad bone in her, what so ever!!! I definitely recommend this restaurant and I do hope you get Ola as your waitress!! 👌🏼😍

I live in Midland now but was coming into the city for an event at Hotel X and since I was arriving in the evening I skipped dinner . So after the event my old ex-Fern Ave Public School chum and I headed to our old neighbourhood for pierogi and borscht . Janusz at Chopin accommodated our late night craving, he was gracious , kind and friendly. The food was delicious and hit the spot . I think his pierogi is better than you know who up the street !

It’s a bar style restaurant which can kind of throw you off when first assessing if you want to try the food here. I am Canadian (of polish descent) and my husband and I came to grab a quick bite this evening to try out the place. I was skeptical of trying the food since I’m a snob when it comes to polish food but this place does not disappoint. We got the Barszcz Czerwony (clear borscht with mushroom dumplings) and the platter for 2. The Borscht is outstanding just like what we have around Christmas. The pierogi are to die for, exactly like you would get in Poland. Everything on the platter was absolutely delicious and tasted homemade. I would highly recommend trying this place out.

We went to celebrate a special birthday. We were a group of 9. 3 separate families. It was 5:00pm, we were the only people in the restaurant. We were slow to order, and I specifically asked our server to separate our bills. I said we are going to have separate bills. He replied - No problem we will take care of it at the end.
We ordered, and ate. Food was ok, not bad not good.
At the end of the dinner our bill came... all on one. So I said "oh we need three bills" At that point he yelled and me and said - you told me only two bills. I said no, I said it would be separate bills. He then said " Do you want me to play it back for you on the camera". He was not happy, and yelled that we should have just figured it out. And continued to insult, and condescend to me and the family. He took a good evening, and ruined it.

Its to bad, bc it is very cute spot. But I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Visited recently for a birthday party for my mother in law. Food was underwhelming to say the least. But the service… was absolutely terrible. We asked on arrival for a split bill and were told he would take care of it at the end. At the end we were given one bill… when I asked for separate bills I was yelled at, and asked “if we wanted the conversation played back from his camera”. When I said yes that threat was quickly forgotten. Our sever ruined a family occasion. We could have forgotten about the quality of the food as the company and event were great… however the evening we visited the service was disgusting… I guess that is why we’re the only people in the restaurant.

If you enjoy Polish food, you can't go wrong with this restaurant. And if you are a Perogie lover, they are fantastic! The atmosphere is nice, and the dress code is casual. There is only street parking, which can be a challenge in the Roncesvale area.
