1st time -
Bought both rotisserie and grilled (not really grilled, it's rotisserie and then they grill it) =
BOTH dry, small chickens,.poor value overall.
Nice service though.
Strictly reviewing the Portuguese Tarts.. yes they are worth the drive, worth the crowds, worth the hype.

There are a lot of people here, a good place to find hidden treasures, but be careful of thievesđ
Disappointing, as I had been eyeing this place for their Portuguese tarts after trying them elsewhere. The lady was quite cold; she just plopped the tarts into a napkin, handed them to me, and that was it. I was a bit surprised, but what bothered me most wasnât just the unfriendly service. The tart itself was stale and had a gelatinous texture, likely from sitting out too long. There was no warming lamp, and the staff didnât ask if I wanted it heated up. The taste was just above average, but I couldnât get past the texture. Every bite was oddly gelatinous, and since it was cold, there was no crispy bite like you'd expect from a good tart.

There are too many people on weekends, but everything else is good
There are many local specialties and delicacies from all over the world. Friends who love food must go and have a look
This place is going downhill.
They are so cheap. I ordered 1 whole chicken and they gave me 1 hot sauce. Come on you think thats enough for the whole chicken? This should be complimentary and common sense especially if I asked for extra. Also the chicken is so dry now. Its probably been turning in the grill for days you could tell.
Service is non existent, even the owner hates his job.

The owners should be ashamed of what they are passing of as a bifana sandwich it was flavorless, tough, and dry. And the natas were just mediocre at best.

Famous for their egg tarts, with a sign next to it saying âBest Pastry in the worldâ. I had more than 100 egg tarts in my life from 8 different countries. I would rank this one in the bottom of my list⊠not the right consistency and too sweet. Canât recommend

Try their sauce!
Great tarts! Friendly staff
Did not like the chicken and potatoes personally. Cool spot but would not go again.
Absolute joke, the tart is so tough and feels like re-heated after it is frozen. DO NOT RECOMMEND
I ordered the half chicken with rice and potatoes and 2 of the pastels. The chicken was really flavorful and was very tender. I was able to eat it with very little effort from my fork and knife. The price is great for what you get! The pastels were great and were very comparable to the ones Iâve had in Lisbon. Overall this is an amazing spot that you shouldnât miss in the market!
