Prime rib was a chewy, but steak tartare was good. Chocolate mouse was no frills in presentation but tasty. Arrived at 7:30pm Saturday night and got seated by 9pm. Expect a bit of a wait.

I'm not a steak expert, but I have enough experience to say this place is truly one of a kind! It's definitely a must-visit spot in Toronto. Beyond the steak, the duck confit is exceptionally good.

Be prepared to wait—there are no reservations, only a waitlist, and it typically takes over an hour to get a table.

loved my time at Cote de Boeuf on Ossington. We both had the steak frites and crème brûlée. The meat was good quality and cooked well tender and flavourful with a good char. The sauces added some nice flavor, and the fries were crispy. Crème brûlée was decent with a classic caramelized top. The place is small with a bit of a European vibe on the inside but great . Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, it’s worth the money the value is definitely there. my favourite restaurant for steak in the city. highly recommend.

Excellent food from the beef all the way down to the the butter (no joke the butter is absolutely to die for..so creamy and fresh!)

The service was equally impressive, with each server warm and attentive, passing our table and checkin with us - genuinely invested in our experience. Great recommendations on both the charcuterie and the rib eye…so delicious!

The atmosphere? Like stepping into a charming Parisian bistro tucked away in the heart of Le Marais. Elegant, intimate, and full of character.

Can’t wait to return again!

Incredibly fresh food, vibrant bursting flavors, unequaled ambiance and coziness and service that felt as world class as the food. What more could you want? I look forward to the day I can come back.

Rude host. We put our name down and he said it would be one hour wait. We went to a close by bar and we came back 1 hour later. A couple in front of us just walked in and was seated immediately. I asked the host why they got seated and he did not reply. I asked about our status again and he told us we could not loiter at the entrance even though the white couple ahead of us loitered for a few minutes. Will never go there again and will ensure all our friends, colleagues, and everyone we know are aware of this unacceptable behaviour in 2024 in Toronto.

Côte de Boeuf delivers a charmingly relaxed yet refined dining experience that hits all the right notes. The service strikes a perfect balance—attentive without any pretense, making you feel at ease from the moment you step in.

As for the food, the steak frites is a must-try: perfectly cooked, tender beef paired with golden, crispy fries. The duck fat dipped roast with mascarpone is chefs kiss.
It’s the kind of place where the food is indulgent but never over the top, making it a neighborhood gem for casual yet memorable meals.

Extremely bad service with rude servers who don’t give you the time of day.

For a recent date night, we decided to try Cote du Boeuf, and it did not disappoint. We started with fresh oysters, followed by a perfectly cooked 48oz cote de boeuf steak served with duck fat potatoes and seasonal vegetables—plenty for two and absolutely exquisite. The flavors were rich, and each bite was a treat. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall experience. While it is on the pricier side, the quality and portions make it well worth it. Highly recommended for a special night out!

We were for dinner. Summer night on patio. Great vibes! Service a bit slow as it was super busy. Given the name you would expect great steak but nothing exceptional but still delicious! Beef tartar was great!

Had high hopes for this restaurant, but was very disappointed. They served our burgers rare without any notice or question about how we’d like them cooked. The burgers tasted different from each other. One was served cooked to perfection with the perfect ratio of toppings, the other was practically inedible. Also very overpriced.

Food was okay, we enjoyed the beef tartar and escargot, but the medium-rare steak we asked for was instead closer to medium/medium-well.

Service could have been better. The older gentleman was nice. The girl working there looked like she hated her job and ignored us twice when we tried to wave her down for our bill. When we finally got our bill from the male waiter and asked for a box to pack up the bread (why waste food if we can take it home and heat it up the next day as breakfast?), we never got it. He'd remember to come give us the pos machine and take the receipt, but couldn't get us the takeout box he had promised three times. Strange.
