Such a great spot, the music is loud but not loud enough to prevent intimate conversation. The bartenders are friendly, kind, and extremely outgoing, they will happily discuss all points of the menu with you.

I highly recommend the Softcore Alternative Dancing drink.

Way too loud to have any type of an enjoyable conversation. I understand that they’re going for a certain type of vibe, but at the end of the day it is a cocktail bar, people should still be able to hear conversation. The drinks were nothing special, I would not recommend this place for specialty cocktails.

Cry Baby Gallery delivers the whole package: ambiance, mystery, and intrigue. We almost walked right past it—the innocuous gallery storefront is a great deceptive touch! What a genuinely fun and mysterious atmosphere. Highly recommend seeking it out.

Probably the best menu design I've ever seen, so fitting given the location!

Was a bit disappointed in the variety on the menu, so ended up getting the Zombie. Altho I didn't love it at first, it definitely grew on me and had a couple

Will definitely return when the menu gets refreshed

Very cool cocktail bar tucked inside a gallery. The service is great with friendly staff and the cocktails are all about $20 but one cocktail goes a long way for sure. Ambience is very nice, where you get that weekend night feels while being able to have some conversations and enjoy some music.

Pretty cool place except one of the waitresses brought the warmth of a tax audit to the bar. Unfortunate. Makes me not want to go back.

We visited Cry Baby Gallery to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we were genuinely impressed. The atmosphere is stylish and intimate, and the drinks were solid, the menu is stylishly designed. A lot to like. Unfortunately, the night was completely soured by the behavior of one of the waitresses.

Instead of giving us a reasonable heads-up as they were closing, she ripped drinks out of our friends’ hands—literally mid-conversation—without warning. The tone the entire night was snarky and dismissive. It felt like we were an inconvenience for simply being there.

As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for years, I’ve never seen that level of unprofessionalism—especially in a place that positions itself as high-end.

Really unfortunate, the bar has a great atmosphere and theme. Shame to have it ruined unnecessarily.

Delicious cocktails in a fun speakeasy. Could be coasting on vibes but the drink quality is there. Exciting and fun menu, with cool art. Went there for date night and had great time!

one of the best cocktail spots in the city — great for a date or late-night drink. the happy hour is solid and the bartenders are super creative and kind. i had a tequila manhattan as part of the bartender’s choice and it was phenomenal. the space feels intimate and stylish without trying too hard. a go-to when you want something special but relaxed. can’t wait to bring someone new here next time.

This place honestly surprised me the most! I’ve walked past the gallery so many times and never realized there was a hidden bar behind it!!!! Such a cool discovery! The bar itself is amazing: great music, top-notch service, and really well made drinks. Their menu is super creative too!

I forgot the names of the drinks we had, but I remember the one in the 5th photo, the dark red one was much stronger than the one next to it. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the more low-key looking drink. It wasn’t too strong, just the perfect balance of flavor that made me want to keep sipping and refilling nonstop, haha.

As for the drink in the sixth photo, if you’re in the mood to try something different, that one had a unique seasoned orange flavor. Definitely interesting, but not our favorite. Still, such a fun experience overall!

Located in Toronto’s West Queen West district, CryBaby Gallery hides a full cocktail bar behind a wall in the back of its art gallery front. The bar space is centered around a wraparound counter, with some seating in the back. Lighting is atmospheric, the layout intimate, and the backbar is huge — well-stocked and softly backlit. Music was just a touch too loud to call it fully conversational, but it didn’t kill the vibe.

Drinks: 7.5/10
Recommendation: Julia Guglia Martini
Very cool concept — each drink has a dedicated page with a description and an art piece that’s available for purchase. Large selection, creative layout. Average glassware, no garnish, no coasters, and presentation was basic. The “Julia Guglia Martini” was nicely balanced; the “Vogue Quimby” leaned heavily into mezcal, overshadowing other ingredients, lack of balance.

Service: 9/10
Team was friendly, professional, and attentive. Water was served on arrival. Prices are average for Toronto.

Cocktail in the back of a small art gallery. Really the gallery is in the front of the cocktail bar. Lots of great drinks and amazing bartenders. Order the zombie with an extra shot of smith and cross. You will not be disappointed.
