Friendly cashiers. Even though it was the end of their service, they accepted our orders and gave my daughter an extra free croissant.

Came in this morning as I am visiting from BC and hear dark horse is an OG toronto speciality coffee shop.
The two people working were just overall not very nice people, didn’t feel welcomed and more like a bother to them than anything. That aside the coffee was truly not good and expensive. For the same price I went to the coffee shop right infront and got a true specialty coffee experience.
I hate leaving bad reviews, but this experience was truly disappointing as someone who loves coffee.

I don’t tend to leave reviews but I came in this morning and it made my day!
Baristas are super kind and my drinks were very well made — Love the space, will definitely be returning ☺️
Edit: Just left after visiting, different staff and the white barista working was a bit rude and condescending. Drink was mediocre. Won’t be returning

The atmosphere is very ecstatic, sadly the overall service of the place is underwhelming. The food was meh and the service was unpleasant. The employees seem to always have an issue when talking to a costumer and like they’re annoyed to make the persons order. Overall it’s an ok place to go if you don’t plan on interacting with people.

sad that I have to leave a bad review, because it truly is a nice cafe with a cozy atmosphere. unfortunately, their banana bread matcha left much to desire. I decided not to finish it because it just tasted like slightly sweet milk. I tried their iced pistachio latte the other day, which was the same, flavoured milk. Their sun-dried tomato danishes are delightful though.
Additionally, the service is mediocre at best. Most of the baristas treat the customers like an annoyance.

Can’t remember if it was Saturday or Sunday, but I had a good latte here last weekend. It’s the first cafe I tried in Toronto, during the hectic craze of helping my daughter move in for University, and I will return when we visit her next! Great service from the barista with short wavy hair, very friendly and upbeat! The space is large and modern but has kept the building’s vintage charm. It’s also next door to a record store! Have been come here often because of work, staff is very nice, coffee is good
Edit: Seems like staff has changed and they are not being trained properly, unfortunately drink was not very good this morning. Not very enticed to continue coming if staff is obviously not trained to make the good cup of coffee I once had.

One of my favourite spots for remote work or just meeting up with friends. Lots of seating and the hidden seating area behind the bar is a wonderful touch

We ordered three bakery items, a sandwich, and two coffees. Unfortunately, the coffees were completely forgotten and it took quite a while before everything was prepared. The scone and other baked goods were not fresh at all, which was disappointing.

Love the other Dark Horse locations I've been to, but the coffee here was such a let down. Way under-extracted, giving a watery, weak taste that I couldn't enjoy.
Normally something I'd return to the barista and get remade, but I didn't want to interrupt their conversation about other jobs they'd left or been fired from.
Toronto has a handful of killer cafes. The building and design of this place is amazing, but I'd rather go somewhere with good coffee that makes me feel welcome.

Blazing fast guest wifi, super strong coffee. Peaceful workspace with giant windows and plenty of sunlight. Squeaky clean bathrooms in the Robertson buildings. Can't complain.

Ordered espresso today. Service was slow and the shot was very sour.
Amateurs who don't know how to pull a good espresso shot. Won't go back.
Two years later and I tried again sour Espresso. 0 stars do not recommend
Went there 3 times in 3 days and each time I went the staff behind the till and baristas were all incredibly rude and sassy. Smart and sarcastic comments when you ask a question. Would definitely not go here again
