Not many here. Afternoon. But heard it rocks later.
Izzy and Julia were amazing! Good drinks and top notch hospitality!
The food at Firkin on Yonge is very very good. The server was great. Recommended the best menu items and she was very pleasant. The restaurant itself is pretty cool. Decorated with a British theme - Beatles, Sex Pistols, even Monty Python. This may have been a one-off but the only negative was that our food took close to an hour to get to us. And we were there at noon, when it opened, it was not busy at all. But overall, highly recommend this place. Good prices as well considering it is downtown Toronto.
The AC was not working - this is on the day of the heat wave. The floor was sticky and dirty, I left within 5 mins of coming in.
It's ok.
I had a blast at comedy! Drinks are cold and very tasty! Definitely a great after paddleboarding event.
Whoever manages this location, definitely underestimates the amount of staff required. The server we had on the second floor last night was the only person working all the tables we arrived just before our 6 PM reservation and our food arrived at our table at 7:20 pm. We mentioned we had an 8 PM show so it didn't give us much time to eat before we had to leave. The food was just OK. The amount of fries that you received with your burger were just a few scattered on the plate for the price they're charging the salads were not good at all. Tasteless. And like I said, the server was scrambling the entire time not that it was their fault obviously their short staffed.
Typical pub atmosphere. Food was ok. House salad was arugula with cubed tomatoes and cucumber. Didn't love that. Music was turned on halfway through our meal, and it was far too loud. Again, typical pub atmosphere. There were small black flies hanging around our table. We asked for tossed chicken fingers, but they were squirted with a small amount. We walked away full, so that's good. Portion sizes were big.
My wife and I dined at Firkin on Yonge on Wed. Mar. 12, 2025. We had the Chicken Parmigiana and The English Dip with a side Caesar Salad. The food was very good. The decor and atmosphere was very good. The service was even better. Our server's name was Izzy. She was very attentive, friendly and always smiling. When we asked for another drink, more serviettes etc. she was right back to us with our request. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Firkin on Yonge and if she's working.....ask for Izzy.
Great location close to Mirvish theatre and Massey hall. Decent beer selection, and attentive and friendly service. Will keep this place top of mind anytime I take in a show in the area

We got to the pub early and so it was quiet. Great location, close to the theatres/Massey Hall. Service was fine. Starters were good. Fish and Chips were substantial but did not really like the batter on the fish. Don't know if anyone else is finding this in bars/pubs but the drinks we ordered were not as advertised (e.g., a mojitio with no mint...) and were watery - it did not seen there was any alcohol in them ! This has happened in other places as well. Sign of the times?
We really enjoyed the food, and we were well taken care of by the staff! It was our first time there, we will definitely return. A lot of appealing items on the menu!
Horrible experience and they can't blame it on being busy because it wasn't. Now I know why there was an open reservation here. It was freezing cold in there and we were sitting upstairs, close to the kitchen. Terrible service - waited a really long time for our food to be delivered...more than 30 mins for 4 basic meals. And our server didn't smile once. He did the absolute bare minimum and only because I'm not a complete jerk did I not leave him a 0% tip. Only bright spot was the greeter at the front who smiled, engaged and brought us upstairs.
The food arrived cold- but plates hot. There was a big table and our server couldn't keep up as they were understaffed. Food was blah but fine.
Our experience was terrible. We first started with a beer which came out warm and had a hair in it. We then ordered the ramen which is apparently a pub favourite. It was inedible. The noodles were in one big clump stuck together like glue in so much teriyaki/soya sauce that we could barely get down 2 bites. It was supposed to be in a light broth but it was so thick it honestly looked like chocolate pudding. I don’t know how they made it but it was SO salty and again, inedible. We then got the ramen replaced and they gave us a burnt burger. Our entree salad also had no dressing and I waited for about 20 minutes for them to bring it out after asking. Our waiter was very nice and not to blame at all! The waiters were about the only thing enjoyable about the experience.
