My parents used to go here in the 50’s and 60’s. I had a Grossmans sweatshirt I inherited from my Dad. I remember it was orange. Anyway years later in the early 80’s,myself and my university friends hit Grossmans one night and that was it!! Regulars for a very long time now.I remember seeing and partying with Jeff Healy,Gordie Johnson,Amanda Marshal to name a few. One night we even saw Burton Cummings. We walked in heard the band playing American Woman and lo and behold there’s Burton singing it with the band. Absolutely awesome!!The owners lost their wonderful daughter years ago and started charity in her name to help under privileged students I believe. Wonderful family run bar for years.Haven’t been in awhile but it’s time for a nostalgic visit to Grossmans!! Love this place! So many memories!!!

The Sat & Sun afternoon jazz here is phenomenal! As I sit and watch “ The Happy Pals” , on a Sat afternoon, I think, “This is my happy place.” I bet the music in the rest of the week is great too. Laid back, this place.

Me and my friends just finished our shift and wanted to play pool after a long day. As we walked in to set our change on the table we were accused of stealing a loonie by the bartender with glasses. absolutely deplorable especially the fact we were the only people of colour in the establishment. This was a very uncomfortable experience and I would highly recommend not going there.

Immediately felt at home at Grossman’s Tavern. The staff is friendly, there’s often live music, and pool is $1. What more can I say?

Toronto's Home of the Blues ... Classic venue and perfect milieu for old time Blues and Rock'n'roll. Oldest open stage jam in the city.A storied past too long to detail here, Grossman's has seen just about everyone in Torontonian and Canadian music on its stage.A must for fans and players alike ...

I come to grossman’s check out Eric Shenkman and Actionsound Band. Eric is a very talented guitar master, rocking out the blues . Soul Shakes the bongo player usually plays on a few songs . Guest harmonica players . Often other special guest musicians! The show really rocks . Worth checking out.

If you like great music in an unpretentious atmosphere, Grossman's is your place on Wednesday nights in Toronto. You seldom find genuine blues clubs like this and Eric Schenkman's Actionsound Band is an authentic and entertaining group of super talented musicians. You won't be disappointed.

I come to Toronto specifically to see Eric Schenkman's Action Sound Band on Wednesday nights at the legendary Grossman's Tavern. Grossman's hasn't changed in the forty years I've been to the venue - and they have always housed some of the city's best kept secrets - GREAT music, Heavy Hitter Musicians who LOVE their job. Eric's latest lineup, on November 22, had Stan Miczek on bass, Glenn Milchem on drums, Paul Reddick AND Kieran Lafferty on Harmonica, and of course SoulShakes (Aaron Knight) on bongos. This band is tight and they have as much fun as the crowd. As always - there's no cover at this iconic tavern - and the ambience is unlike any other bar. But it is exactly why I always come back for more. Do yourself a favor - head down to Spadina and catch Eric and some of the best musicians around. It's the Hottest Gig Going!
