It was the worst sushi I’ve ever had—poor quality, bad smell, and the food was honestly terrible.

Had a great dinner eating their Bara Don! I thought they were pretty generous with their fresh fish and other toppings. The plain rice allowed the fish flavour to shine through! Miso soup had enoki mushrooms. My friend thought their Japanese Sea Bream tasted fresh and buttery. It wasn't as good as the fish she had in Japan, but it was a fair substitute. It costed $18 for 3 pieces. We all thought the $26 for the don was a fair price for the portion and sashimi. No issues, and would recommend for the friendly service and food. Nice and bright interior!

Food was fine, nothing special. We had the unagi don and sous vide beef. Lacked depth of flavour and tamago was a bit too sweet. Space is clean, though, and bright.

The food was ok, a solid don that definitely fills you up. I got the Unatama don, a friend got the Aburi don, and another got the beef don. We all think the toppings were great (unagi was plump and well-marinated, tamago was ok- not "cohesive" enough imo), but the rice was a tad bit lacking. The miso soup and takoyaki were good tho. What bumped my and friends' ratings down was the price. Quality ingredients, sure but the don wasn't extraordinary enough to feel like the price was worth it (you can look at the menu to see the prices). The taste simply wasn't "OOMPH" enough (the unatama one i had) to be worth that much. Friend also said they prefered the beef don at You Don Ya. Maybe I'd come here again in half a year when I'm ready to spend $$$ on a more unique don; I'll update my review then.

Great restaurant and authentic sashimi. One of the best Don I ever have in North America. The waiters (Nicky and Rachel) were friendly and attentive. Would definitely come again whenever I am in town.

The staff is very friendly. The seats are small because it is in the center of the city. The food is served very quickly. The food is quite fresh. There are many choices and the price is reasonable. I will eat here again.

The fish here was fresh and tasty! At first, the volume doesn’t look too impressive but a bowl is definitely filling without being heavy. I really enjoyed the raw scallops and my colleague found the avocado salmon bowl to be delicious. I definitely want to try the other bowls this location has to offer.

It is quite busy and there aren’t too many spaces inside but definitely worth a visit!

We ordered the Kyoto don, seafood chazuke and taro pancake.

The Taro pancake barely tastes like anything and sauce was sea and sour sauce. Does not go with the taro flavor AT ALL.

The seafood chazuke was wrong in many ways. The rice to broth proportion is like 2:1. In the end it just became smushy rice. And the flavour of the broth is also really off. The whole dish was a disaster.

The Kyoto don was ok.

Service is good.

Cute interior but food was just okay. It does look aesthetically pleasing but the overall experience was mediocre. The dishes lacked flavour. I had to keep adding soy sauce to my dish. The chicken karaage was not hot and not even crispy. It had a soft bite. Was a bit disappointed.

Went on September 15th with a friend, had a wonderful time. Food is a little pricy but quite tasty, but the service staff were absolutely wonderful. Our server helped us charge our phones which absolutely mattered when we were going home for the night. The ice cream is also delicious, coming in a crispy waffle cone.

The ingredients are very fresh, the sea urchin is very sweet ~ the portion is very generous! The only thing I don't like is that the rice doesn't taste very good.

I had really high hopes for this place since my sister raved about it. I found that the hot food that we ordered (karage and takoyaki) were not as hot and fresh as I would like. The karage wasnt crunchy and the takoyaki wasnt piping hot (usually it’s burn my mouth hot ?). The presentation of the bowls were done quite well and even though it looks small, it is really filling. Filling of rice though LOL so we had to add more and more soy sauce to make it flavoured. I thought service was okay, they are definitely busy so I can’t complain. There is a 5% discount if you pay with cash.
