I ordered cod and chips and crab cakes yesterday and found a large piece of plastic in one of the crab cakes. I called the store to let them know and they didn’t seem too apologetic. I will *not* be taking them up on their offer for a future discounted item. 😳

Fluffy, light, perfectly crispy, completely non-greasy batter on the fish. Perfection. I was in London, UK and tried many places there, so I know a good fish and chips place. The fries though are terrible. Please Hooky’s upgrade your fries to be good without having to use ketchup! Make them like Poppies Chips in London! Poppies has good thickly cut chips - no Ketchup required!

Came in with my family including my sister who can’t eat gluten. We got the haddock and it was perfectly cooked, crispy, great flavour with no off putting “fishy” taste, and nice texture. The fries, sauce, and coleslaw were also great and paired well with the fish. What really surprised me was the gluten free fish and chips my sister got which I tried. It had no weird texture that gluten free things usually have and it still kept great taste and was surprisingly just as good as the fish with the regular batter. Staff was super friendly and we would definitely come back again.

Great service team — they’re so friendly and approachable. Got the haddock fish and chips. Huge portion, but the fish was a little dry for my personal preference. Otherwise, great tartar sauce etc. Worth the price if you’re hungry and ready to chomp on some protein and carbs!

Everything was quite tasty, but I think they shouldn't use this paper for serving because it stains the food, I don't think it's very healthy.

I ordered the Cod + Chips here. The staff was friendly. Service took a little bit longer than the quoted 5 mins (not a big deal). The fish was excellent (very crispy & fresh). Unfortunately, the fries were very poor and did not taste great. Since it's called fish & chips (and half the meal is comprised of chips), I had to deduct 2 stars. If I were to go back, I would just order the fish next time instead (2 pieces).

This Fish and Chips place never fails to impress me. Whenever I’m in The Well, this is one of my constant favourites. I usually order Cod and chips and the other day I came and order it with extra piece of Cod. They thought the original pieces were too small so they gave me extra 2 pcs! This is how you do business, some places would just try to be sneaky if the pieces are too small and it is just up to you to voice it out.
