Great restaurant! The staff are all extraordinarily kind and very helpful! The staff alone give the place a vibrant and fun atmosphere, and the design of the place only adds to that. Great food, solid drink selection. Will be returning!
Have had both steak and crab here and both were excellent, you can get equally good steak for a similar price at many other steakhouses in Toronto but the seafood stood out to me. Side dishes weren't anything special but are included with some orders.

Many new customers probably go to house of chan expecting different things. This isn’t a traditional steak house, and it’s not a Chinese restaurant. People who have been going here for 20+ years understand its more nuanced. It’s both somewhere in between and neither of the two. They do a few things really really right, some things OK, but the atmosphere is homey and nostalgic for many, and the service and hospitality is incredible, and the little fix ins and accoutrements...
