Jules has become our favourite place to dine at in Toronto ! I’m a huge fan of steak with zero fuss and this place hits the spot every time. They create an authentic french vibe and make you feel included. The service has always been good, but last night’s experience was elevated by Quentin.

My boyfriend and I have been visiting this place for 4 years by now, and everytime we were always happy with our meal and flavors, but today was different. We always ordered the same everytime, the salmon, salmon tartar and grilled octopus, but the portions got way smaller than it used to be, way smaller, so I asked the waitress and she said it was always this way but no, it was not. The salmon was dry and fully cooked, the octopus was flavorless, and the salmon in the tartar did not tested fresh, it even had a weird after test. What made sad is that even the portion of fries was so small that we had to order a separate porcion to complete our meal. It was a huge disappointment specially since we had to drive 45 minutes to get to this restaurant as it was our favorite for the past 4 years. Sadly, we are not returning. I gave 3 start because the previous time the food was good.

Such a cute spot with great food! The Tuesday special on the Cote de Boeuf platter is always a great deal. Enough for two people to share.

The half price steak frites was great. Good portion and easy to enjoy. Escargots are also great with the mushrooms, unique and tasty preparation.

If you’re on the hunt for the ultimate steak experience, look no further than Jules Bistro. This hidden gem is not just a steakhouse; it’s a culinary sanctuary where flavors dance and memories are made.
From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped by a cozy atmosphere that feels like home. The friendly staff greet you with genuine warmth, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the steak. Exquisitely prepared, it arrives at your table with a majestic bone, glistening and promising a flavor explosion that’s simply out of this world. This isn’t your average grilled or fried meat; it’s a masterpiece cooked to perfection, tender beyond belief, and seasoned with a savory blend that will make your taste buds sing. The accompanying peppercorn sauce is nothing short of delightful, elevating each bite to heavenly heights.
But the culinary journey doesn’t stop there. The Caesar salad is a revelation—far from ordinary, it’s a refreshing twist that prepares you for the feast ahead. And those roast vegetables? Incredible! They complement the steak beautifully, adding a burst of flavor that rounds out the meal perfectly.
After indulging in what is undoubtedly the best steak I’ve ever had in the city, I found myself torn between wanting to keep this treasure a secret and the urge to shout its praises from the rooftops. Trust me, you need to experience this for yourself—today!
As we walked out, the owner graciously thanked us for our visit, a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more memorable. Jules Bistro is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of exceptional food and heartfelt hospitality. Don’t miss out on this carnivore's delight—make your reservation now and prepare for a dining experience unlike any other! Thanks for the clarification! Here’s the revised review with the correct term:
I returned to Jules Bistro for the second time with my 11-year-old daughter on a Tuesday, which is half-price day. Upon arrival, the atmosphere felt cozy, but our experience quickly became frustrating.
The gentleman working in the back area seemed overwhelmed, rushing to accommodate tables and focusing primarily on patrons ordering wine, which made us feel overlooked. As casual diners, we felt a distinct lack of attention.
When our food arrived, my daughter and I immediately noticed a significant difference in our platters. The steaks served to the other guests were grand, huge, and beautifully presented, while ours were noticeably smaller and less impressive. It was disheartening to see such a disparity, and we couldn't help but wonder if it was due to our less formal attire or our lower spending on alcohol.
While I still appreciate the bistro and its offerings, this experience was disappointing. No matter where I dine—be it a one-star or five-star establishment—I expect attentive service.
This was our second visit, and I hope there will be a third. I would love to see us treated with the same care as other guests. Thank you for considering this feedback for a better experience next time.

Escargot is good, crème brûlée is fine, steak (we ordered medium rare) is terribly raw.

Food was meh. Cocktails were delicious though. Patio was pretty. However the guests next to us got quite rowdy after a few drinks and we had to leave to continue our conversation. Would’ve stayed for a few more drinks.

I was so excited to try this place out, however, I went on Tuesday for the cote de boeuf (half off for $56) and it was extremely chewy and unseasoned. I ordered it medium rare but had to chew on 1 piece for a very very long time (my jaw was sore after I was done eating the steak). Also had to ask for extra salt for seasoning. I really really wanted to like this spot but the steak was not it :( I’m so disappointed. That said, this was a cute spot with cozy vibes and decor. The service was ok but the red wine was good.
