A fine steak sandwich.
Anwar was lovely and had great recommendations.
I stayed at the hotel and visited this bar a couple of times during my stay. The staff were fantastic every time, and the bartenders really know their craft. I had the Canadian Beef Burger meal—it was delicious and the portion was so generous I couldn’t even finish it. One of my favourite bars during my visit to Toronto.
The wait time is not worth the wait , service was too slow, food and drinks at par with any other place on front street. Got free drink termed “You were here at 5 Pm “ which was a kind gesture
Went with a friend and absolutely loved the food and place. I had beef tartare and pasta.
Best shaved prime rib sandwich I have ever tasted. Every time we are in Toronto we make it a habit to come to the Library Bar for the prime rib. Atmosphere is great and wait staff always very attentive
Great food!

The wife and I intended on grabbing a drink at the clockwork champagne and cocktail lounge until we noticed some people shuffling into a room in the back corner called the “library bar.” Boy are we glad we wandered back there to see what was going on. This little bar is exactly what I’d picture a tasteful cocktail lounge to be in the 1970’s (I’m a little too young to know for sure). Ambiance was a 12/10, the drinks were great and the service was on point. I can’t wait to go back so we can take our time and get some food as well. One of the coolest little hidden gem lounges you’ll find! Well done.

10/10 Experience – Loved Every Minute!
Had the best night . The vibe was chef’s kiss—super cozy and just the right atmosphere for a chill evening. Our waiter, was amazing, super friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing.
The drinks? So good. Everything felt really well thought out, from the service to the overall vibe. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend!

There were 4 of us for dinner. Service was very good! Atmosphere was unbelievably NOISY and we just wanted to eat and leave! We could NOT actually visit with our family due to the annoying high noise level! Specialty drinks were uniquely presented but very overpriced as were the very basic and limited entées. Food-steak, prime rib, burgers were underwhelming. The Caesar salad had so much dressing, it was awful, in retrospect, should have been returned. With all the excellent restaurants in Toronto, we would NOT return!

Restaurantji Recommends
I had the pleasure of being served by Majid twice during my two most recent visits. I cannot say enough good things about his service—he was knowledgeable, friendly, and exceeding attentive.
The food was also great. I highly recommend the french onion soup. There is a great selection of cocktails too—I can’t remember the specific ones I had, but they were all well-presented and very good.
I would recommend coming in the afternoon if you prefer a quieter atmosphere. 2-4pm seems to be the sweet spot.

Cocktails are amazing. The Martini is perfect. We went twice over the weekend. The music at night though was a bit weird though, almost a club atmosphere, didn’t match the clientele
The Library Bar at the Royal York is small and intimate in a glorious room with fantastic creative cocktails. The Sacred Beast cocktail was a sight for the eyes and the taste buds
