The service is relaxed and welcoming. The space is a bit tight, but still not too crowded. While the main food was good but not that impressive size/flavour-wise (it wasn't bad, just really small for the price and nothing outstanding) the desserts were amazing and we will remember the cheesecake for a long time. As we were leaving, someone from the staff came to hurry us up which was a strange move as we just paid and were literally picking our bags to go. Be aware that they don't split the bill.

I would like to start by saying that we had no special expectations for this dinner other than to simply have a good dining experience, as we truly love Greek cuisine and wanted to celebrate my birthday with a nice meal.
Unfortunately, this did not happen.

–The Greek salad was tasteless. The tomatoes had absolutely no flavor. Greek salad is a dish that is perfect in its simplicity, but to be truly good, the ingredients must be high quality.

–We waited almost 50 minutes for our main courses. We didn’t complain and simply waited. No one apologized and no one warned us that the waiting time would be so long. We decided to stay patient, thinking that at least the food would be worth it.

As for the souvlaki, the meat was rare and bloody. This is a skewer dish that should always be well done. It is not a steak, and this should be clearly communicated to guests.

The calamari was cooked well in terms of texture, but the crust was extremely bitter, most likely because the grill was not properly cleaned.

Regarding the price: we paid $200 for two main courses, two appetizers, and drinks. We never mind paying for good food and good service, but unfortunately, we received neither.

I was pleasantly delighted with how Mamakas is confident in the complex of flavours they presented in their dishes. The Lavráki Tartare had a refreshing and the addition of pistachio was unexpected layer of flavour and texture. While the Kokinisto was a mix of melt in your mouth beef, crunchy Sourdough Crumbs and smooth sauce of the orzo that made the dish harmonious. You have to try the baklava cheesecake if you are there and I think the addition of tangy whipped yogurt is genius. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you John for your sweet hospitality and the rest of staff we interacted with.

Excellent quality. We ordered fish, souvlaki, lamb chops, all were great. Service and atmosphere were too. And the best loukoumades we’ve ever had!

This is the best Greek restaurant in Toronto, in my opinion. We ordered the saganaki bites, Greek salad, octopus, sea bass, and acorn squash salad. All were delicious and very creative. The atmosphere is exciting on a weekend evening and the service is fuelled by a passion for their unique kitchen. Highly recommend for a special occasion. It did the trick for ours!

This place came in highly recommended. Not only was the food delicious, but the atmosphere and the service were top tier. I don’t know much about Greek wines, and our server recommended a lovely light red to go with our food.

We got the Lavráki Tartare (Mediterranean seabass) and the Lahano dish (roasted cabbage) as an entree. Followed by Oktapódi (grilled octopus)and Imam Bayildi (grilled eggplant). We finished with the Baklava cheesecake, it was definitely on the heavier side, but not too sweet.

Overall, the experience was a 10/10 and if you’re looking to reserve, this is your sign! 👌

Food was excellent - elevated Greek fare. Service was spot on, with a really good wine recommendation. A bit cramped. Could use some more elbow room.
