Definitely a new spot that hit the spot! My friend recommended it, so we came on a Saturday evening. It was packed, but the service was amazing and the food was really good.
We ordered a bunch of items to share, and honestly I think that’s the best way to enjoy this place. If you just order a single dish it might not feel like enough, but when you share, it’s perfect. Prices can be a little on the higher side, so sharing different items makes it worth it.
We tried the chicken souvlaki (just FYI—it’s not a full dinner, it’s just the meat, so you’ll need to order sides separately), chicken with mushrooms, potatoes, pita bread, and meatballs. My top three standouts were: 1. The pita bread (so good!) 2. The chicken souvlaki (highly recommend) 3. The potatoes (super flavorful)
Everything else was good too, and I’ll definitely be back.

Extremely disappointing experience. The food is outrageously overpriced for the mediocre quality you get. The server’s explanation of the menu was misleading and felt almost deceptive. For example, $24 gets you just three tiny, bland meatballs, and $14 for a small “side” of fries that is advertised as though it’s included with the main dish. On top of that, we were a group of six and they refused to split the bill, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. Overall, poor value, poor communication, and definitely not worth the money.

One the worst dine out experiences I've ever had. Very low quality food and extremely over priced. The 1/2 chicken in specific was abysmal. I don't recommend trying this place.

Great atmosphere, felt like greek actually. But the food was very underwhelming, we were all pretty excited because it was a very busy restaurant and very hard to get a reservation, but all dishes were pretty mediocre, and expensive comparing to the quality. They could not do separate bills, which is weird for Canada!
I am not going to lie, this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Its a little pricey so be forewarned, but it is definitely elevated Greek food. We got the tasting menu so a bit of everything and I was not disappointed by a single dish. The calamari was on another level, the meat was moist and delicious, and the dips were dense and creamy with a lightness that I cant really explain..

The staff was excellent, our waitress Natalie was attentive, pleasant but not overbearing- the perfect level of attention! The food was fantastic. 1 appetizer and 2 mains in the family style restaurant felt like a lot of food!

Dinner at Mamakas did not disappoint! This was our first time there, and we ordered the eggplant dip and the spanakopita to start which were both delicious, especially the spanakopita. We both ordered the two lamb dishes and the spinach side dish and they were fantastic. The lamb neck is so flavourful. We’re already planning what we’d order next time. Service was good. The waitress seemed new and not able to really describe anything for us, but that’s going to happen. All in all, a great night!
