I used to love McVeighs. They were a great irish pub and poured some of the best Guinness.

Recently, I've visited and there was no sign of being open. The hours posted are not accurate. Is this place even open anymore? I wasted time trying the doors. No updates on what is going here.

Incredibly creamy pint of Guinness, especially on a weekend night. A solid pint of Murphy’s as well for those who care. And, funny enough, some of the best poutine I’ve had in this city. Great ambience as well. Cozy, lively, yet not too loud.

They wouldn't play great big Sea, the navigators, or the beach boys... They are not maritimer friendly and I think that might be on purpose 😅

The french fries are hand cuts and made fresh. They are totally worth the visit

Great Irish pub at the heart of downtown. Music took me back to Ireland, and as did the beer. Highly recommend

I had a poor experience at McVeigh's Irish Pub recently. The bartender on duty was quite unfriendly and unprofessional. Instead of providing good service, he was dismissive and seemed uninterested in his job. This negative attitude made the visit uncomfortable and unpleasant. I hope the management takes note and works on improving service quality.
