First time having bad experience In this restaurant while delivery pickup
Old lady working there she’s very rude
She is just showing her no common sense towards customers and drivers.

I Hope She get well soon.

Worst experience at a Greek restaurant. The chicken souvlaki was over cooked borderline burned. The vegetables were burned to char. Majority of the food was inedible.

Salad, tzatziki and tirokafteri were excellent. Calamari as well, my pork pita was very big and good but just a little overcooked. But I would definitely eat here again. Out waiter and overall service were excellent.

Nice food, nice atmosphere. The fish was tender, gentle in flavour. The rice was nicely cooked. It would have been good if they gave us extra plates for bones.

The food was really good and the portions were huge My friend and I shared an appetizer + a dinner and it was more than enough food. We also each had a glass of wine. It was busy and noisy and they don't take reservations moved once because of family with children sat down next to us but waiter was lovely but not too attentive but the food came out well. The only thing I would say is their wine is very very expensive. The minimum bottle prices $55 and up by the glass. Not so bad. 12 for white and 14 for red at the low end

The food was quite good and the service attentive. The redesign looks quite good.

The problem is the noise level. There is nothing to dampen the sound, so people have to shout to be heard and that just makes it worse.

This was inside the main restaurant. The enclosed patio may be quiet enough for people to have a conversation.

Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian section on their menu

Food was good, service not so much. I don’t understand when restaurants watch you like a hawk as you take your last bite to serve you the bill and practically push you out the door. I understand you are busy and want to seat the next customers, but dining at a restaurant is also an experience. We are not on a production line where you churn out diners like it’s the end of the world.
Visited this restaurant and literally as soon as we were done eating, literally taking the last bite of our food and didn’t even put our forks down yet, we were asked if we would like dessert. When we said no they served us the bill without asking. That was annoying but we ignored it as we were trying to not let that gesture bother us. Mind you, we barely spent an hour at our table (just barely enough time to get served the food as fast as possible and eat) and waited 30 minutes to be seated. When we didn’t get up immediately, the hostess literally stood by our table staring us down so that we get up. Not kidding at all, she just stood there staring and waiting. I mean, wow.

There’s a difference between busy and wanting to seat the next guests, and giving your current guests the worst experience ever. They might as well have asked us to inhale our food or finish out plates outside. If we wanted to eat “fast food” we could have just gone to a McD and ordered takeout. There’s an art and etiquette to dining in, this “restaurant” definitely doesn’t know it.

Food ok. But ambience far too noisy for an elegant eatery.

First time here since they’ve moved into the old papas grill location. First time in the other building was nothing to brag about. This time I definitely think it went downhill. They seem to focus on the new beautifully look they have going, rather than service and food. We were three of us. I couldn’t hear myself talk. Felt like I was in a cafeteria. Place is so over crowded that the waiters can’t even bring out the Saginaki and properly melt it in front of you. Might as well have eaten it cold. Rice tasted day old rice. No flavour either. Chicken was just okay. Village salad was warm. Cherry tomato’s on top? Being European we all know a good salad needs chopped tomato’s to let the flavour set. We ordered drinks. He came with the wrong one at first. Quickly replaced it. I asked for a drink which took a while then he realized he forgot. So service is also mediocre. When it came time to pay, the machine is set up to a high tip amount of 18%. Maybe focus on quality and service and not be greedy. To top it all off, we all ended up with stomach aches on the drive home which is 1.5 hours away. After this experience I’d rather eat at a Mr Greeks express.

The restaurant business is tough so I try to be as charitable as possible with my reviews but the quality of the food here has really declined. We ordered two chicken one lamb and one beef souvlaki dinners. They were all very dry and the skewers are pretty small for the almost $40 per dish price . Sorry to say I won't be going back to Mezes.

The saganaki wasn’t very sweet like usual saganaki that I’ve had and the waiter didnt light it on fire in front of us so I didnt get to record it unfortunately. But the dining area was pretty. Chicken souvlaki could’ve been cooked a bit better but perhaps it was just because it was a Monday night? The steak skewers, fried Calamari/Kalamari, greek fries and tzatziki were pretty good. Salad seemed to be drenched in slightly too much olive oil however but still not bad. Overall 6/10. It’s a nice place to go to if you wanna slightly dress up though, and the renovations look really good! Also- found $7 paid parking about a 2 minute walk away at the Chester subway station

Waited over an 1.5 hrs on a Sunday night. The front staff kept reassuring us that a table will be available, but kept taking smaller groups that came in after us first. The front staff kept telling us ppl are paying but we can see no one was paying. Wasted space too! Downstairs could be used for dining, and was completely empty. Absolutely terrible customer service. We ended up leaving as the manager at this point came out and told us our party was too big to accommodate us ON A SUNDAY NIGHT!!!!! Why didnt they tell us that after 30 min? Not worth the hype. Lesson learned- Dont ever listen to the front staff. Just leave if you dont get served in 30 minutes.

I have to say, this used to be my favourite restaurant on the Danforth. And with the authentic and good tasting Greek food dying on the danforth I was thankful to at least have a few left this being one.

I’ve come to visit mutiple times within the last 6-8 months after not visiting for a while and have to say both times was disappointed. Things didn’t have the freshness I remember, some tasted stale, quality just wasn’t there. We ordered a bunch of things meze style and can’t say there was a single thing that really impressed us. Became just eating not to waste money or food. Hoping it was just a bad few experiences.

Though the food was pretty good, the hostess and waitstaff totally ruined the celebration with a party of 9 by seating us on a "heated" patio where everyone was shivering and forced to eat with their winter jackets on.
It was so atrocious that they would have a party as large as ours with an obvious celebration left to fend for ourselves in the cold. They did not even have those gas heating lamps to keep patrons warm enough.
The hostess was very dismissive and deceiving that the patio would be a heated patio.
What's worse is that there were people vaping marijuana on the street corner and it was wafting onto the patio as we dined.
The food though tasty did not make up for the appalling treatment we received nor was there even any complimentary service and there was even a fixed additional gratuity to boot.
Overall had it not been for the positive attitude of my gracious guests this dining experience would have been a complete fail.
Mezes, you totally disappointed.
