MSSM Yorkville offers an affordable omakase experience with great care and attention given to the food. The sushi is a highlight, with knowledgeable chefs who explain the food they serve. They are able to accommodate dietary preferences. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, with chefs preparing the meal in front of customers.
The chefs are described as great and professional, and the restaurant regularly replaces moist towels for those who eat sushi with their hands. The omakase menu is priced well for the price, and customers can look forward to dishes like striped jack and toro bluefin tuna belly.
The fish is fresh and there is a great variety of fish and flavours. The menu changes, which is great and refreshing. Reservations are easy to make online, and parking is available next door or within walking distance of the TTC. The atmosphere is pretty casual with lights and pop music playing. Service was also great!
However, the restaurant isn't accessible as you have to go up a flight of stairs. One chef spoke very quietly when explaining which cut of fish. MSSM Yorkville is a solid omakase for the price, and a very approachable omakase for someone who has never been or is less familiar with sushi. It is highly recommended if you want to try omakase that isn't too crazy expensive.
