Pauper's Pub is a good as a simple destination after a movie at Hot Docs. They have a standard menu and a decent selection of beers. The noise level depends on the time of day - as with any pub.
We had a group of seven and were able to sit in a little “snug” area and had a great time - able to talk and not be a bother to others, and not have a lot of other noise. The food was really good and our servers were really excellent to us. We had a great evening!! Thank you Paupers!!
Well we arrived at the moment when our server was leaving, so after we settled up with them we didn't see another server for a good 40 minutes! Also, I ordered a couple of cocktails that didn't taste like they had any alcohol in them. Not that that is particularly unusual in Toronto, and maybe having just recently come back from a Dominican Republic all-inclusive, perhaps my tolerances were higher. Or lower.
