Satay On The Road Reviews
Used to order here all the time. Switched a few years ago but thought we’d try again. We never got our order tonight.. after 2 hours of waiting, called the restaurant and was advised that it should be arriving soon, that the kitchen was busy but they would follow up with the driver. An hour later still nothing- tried calling again but the restaurant is now closed at 9 pm- no answer. I ordered takeout yesterday. I threw it out. Never before have I had such terrible Thai food. Soup was oily. Crispy Beef was mushy and drenched in sauce. Rice was overcooked and wet. Mango salad was not ripe and was flavourless. Horrible meal.
I ordered the $30.00 combination which was hot and sour soup, 2 spring rolls, Pad Thai, rice and cashew chicken. The food was delicious and they were huge portions. I was expecting everything on one platter but each dish was served on a separate platter. For me the food was enough to feed 3-4 people. I had lots of food to bring home. The service was excellent. I would go back again.

Satay On The Road is a long-standing favorite for takeout orders, now using recyclable white containers. Offering a 10% discount for cash payments, this spot is praised for its tasty food at great prices. Customers enjoyed dishes like crispy beef, green curry, and the pad tai, which is described as absolutely terrific. The restaurant is located on Bayview Avenue and is known for its fresh and tasty food. While some reviews mention that the atmosphere is lacking, many customers appreciate the service, with one noting that the waitress was super nice and the cutlery and tablecloth were clean. The restaurant remains a great choice for takeout, with dishes like oodles of noodles with curry and perfectly fried calamari receiving high praise. However, a few reviews suggest that the food can be average compared to fast food, and some find it difficult to digest. Overall, Satay On The Road is a reasonable option for those looking for good food at great prices, making it a potential spot for special occasions like a birthday dinner.
