2 years later and this place's quality hasn't wavered one bit. Still one of my favorite restaurants in the city!

Absolutely incredible food at an affordable price point. Anytime I order the dinner for one I eat it for two meals because it is so much food. Excellent choice for take out or eat in

The food here is incredible and the value cannot be beat. My partner and I come here often to share a Shalom platter and we both leave feeling satiated. The doro wat is savoury and perfectly spiced, the vegetable sides are always varied and equally as delicious.
If you are a fan of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine, come here. If you are new to the cuisine, this restaurant is the best place to come try it for the first time. A must-try, you won’t be disappointed!

Do not hesitate to order for delivery! Normally I like to enjoy Ethiopian food at the restaurant for the full experience but today I was craving dorowat and ordered on uber eats. Probably the best dorowat I have had in the city, portion size was perfect, food came hot, fresh and my craving has been satisfied!

So far i’ve been here twice, and both times I brought someone who hasn’t tried Ethiopian/Eritrean, and both times they left loving it! The atmosphere, music, layout, service, etc was all excellent, and the restaurant is generally well kept. I also want to thank Helen, Dawut, and Saba who all were extremely kind and welcoming to me and my friends.
So far i’ve tried the:
- Veggie platter for 2
- Meat platter for 2
The injera is cooked to perfection, the veggies are fresh and delicious, while the meat is very savoury.

I’ve lived in Toronto over 25 years n tried many Ethiopian restaurants, this is definitely on the top.
Saba was amazing and recommend the perfect dishes for drinking ( kitfo) which is way better than any French tartar with rich beefy flavours but super fresh and clean.
And a dish with lamb and collard greens which was tender and flavourful.
This is my new go to spot for Ethiopian from now on.

Nice little place - I had the vegetarian platter and a spiced tea. Prices average. Recommended!
Delicious food, great service. Had the meat and veg platter and it was excellent.

I just had an amazing experience at Shalom Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious—rich with authentic flavors that truly capture the essence of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to
Food was exceptional we had a meat platter and authentic coffee service and beers. Experience was wonderful, our young lady serving us divine. Incredible flavors still thinking about it days later lol. Will definitely be back when in Toronto. Thank you!
Absolutely incredible experience! The food was authentic and delicious, and Saba went above and beyond to guide us through the menu, introducing us to the rich flavors of Ethiopian cuisine. Her warm and friendly conversation made the meal even more enjoyable. This has quickly become my favorite spot in the neighborhood—highly recommend!
Delicious food and good customer service
I've been to a number of Ethiopian restaurants and the flavors can be a hit or a miss. This place was wonderful. Great ambiance, great service and delicious
I highly recommend.
We had the Taste of Shalom and Meat platter.
The Doro Wat was AMAZING. So we're the Lamb Tibs. Very saucy
Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and professional. Food is consistently good, very healthy and flavorful without being too spicy. They serve the best coffee in the city (owner used to be a barista). Very good hours.
Parking: It’s fairly easy to find paid parking on the street in front of the restaurant. $4/hour. Must pay as it is constantly being checked even if you are dashing in to collect a pickup order.
