After seconds of meticulous consideration my colleague and i decided on ordering the chicken schawarma poutine. Upon placing our order, the shopkeep asked us if it was our intention to have chicken schawarma AND french fries in a poutine style. Now, my compatriot and I are not Canadian, nor are we chefs of middle eastern cuisine. Neither have either of us been far within the bounds of the former Ottoman empire. As such, we have only a cursory knowledge of what chicken schawarma poutine would entail. Thus, our retort "you tell us, good sir". Yet, he again queried us, kindly insisting that we confirm our order. We responded in the affirmative.
Our trust in this fair gent was fulfilled. We were rewarded with a delicious dish, lovingly packaged in a plastic to-go container. We were given both a fork AND a spoon. Perhaps you think it is not traditional to eat french fries with a spoon. You would be correct, and with good reason, for this tool was useless. Yet, our enjoyment of this east-meets-west fusion dish was not impaired. Delicious.

Super friendly owners! Food is great and always fresh. The only downside is the washroom is next door.

The food taste good. The service is good. The only thing I would say is that the meat doesn’t taste like shawarma meat. The chicken is more like tandoori chicken.

Nice staff. Small place. The shawarma had very different seasonings then usually and food was greasy. Not the best.

After a long cycling trip, the two of us stopped by Shish Donair, and it was the perfect spot to recharge. I had the Spicy Shawarma Wrap, and it was absolutely amazing! The balance of fresh vegetables, juicy chicken, and the perfectly spiced sauce made it the best shawarma I’ve had in Toronto.
On top of that, the owner was super friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The prices were also very reasonable—under $10 per person, which is fantastic for such great quality and portion sizes. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or refueling after a workout, this place won’t disappoint. We’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Not sure what's happened here over the last 6-12 months. At 7pm and onward, I've been coming for platters and they are constantly out of various things like potatoes, rice etc. Also the portions have been inconsistent. Frustrating as this was my go-to.

Rice was plain just yellow colour. This place is not an authentic shawarma place. Food didn’t taste satisfying. Do not waste your money here.

Food and service are the only things to consider here. Nice hole in the wall joint. Had the donair. Nothing but good things to say from what looks like a family business.
