I wish I could give this restaurant 0/5 stars. SO DISAPPOINTING!
I had high hopes for such a historic location and was so excited to try it based on what I’d heard! But after several visits by myself since the new owners took over a few years ago, I refuse to support them any longer.
I observed waitstaff and management ignoring customers in order to chat with/serve their friends/regulars. I also saw the staff/management/owners regularly take shots at the front bar in front of customers. As a customer, I was left unattended for upwards of 30 min before I could order my meal. I didn’t feel like I was being treated like a priority, I was more treated like an annoyance which I found strange.
The food was not fresh and had little imagination (I was told that some of the food is 7+ days old in the fridge…). I also once brought a friend with me who ordered a chicken sandwich- it was pink in the middle and they got food poisoning from this. I gave them many chances, but I will NOT be returning, nor will I recommend this to anyone!
Maybe if the owners are willing to listen to feedback or invest better in their staff things could change for the better?

Service is incredible and food is so tasty! Best breakfast place in Parkdale by a longshot. Very lucky to have experienced this restaurant at the time I have. Can't leave out the amazing vegan options!!! The vegan pasta had me in a lock.

The Skyline is an institution of Parkdale. The cozy retro vibes are something you can’t find in a lot of places and is what makes The Skyline so special. The food was standard diner fare served promptly by the friendly staff.

Awesome place if you want a low key unpretentious meal. Daily specials. Proper food. Excellent Reuben sandwich. Well worth a stop.
We just moved to the area and had heard really good things about this place from friends, but were pretty disappointed. We were seated quickly but it took 40 minutes for someone to take our food and drink order. We closed our menus and tried to catch the eye of the server, who hadn't spoken to us yet and was walking by our table quickly and avoiding looking at us. Maybe we should have said something like the table next to us-they complained that they had to wait 15 minutes to order and were given a free round of drinks immediately. I ordered the daily scramble and the menu said eggs, hash browns, arugula salad, and toast. If I was facing the opposite the direction, I would have seen that the sign on the wall said the daily scramble has cheddar and bacon today. Which the server pointed out to me when I politely apologized for not know there was bacon in it. Maybe he could have mentioned that there's daily specials? My friend mentioned that I don't eat meat and it was replaced very quickly. I couldn't figure out how to tip less than 18% on the machine so I just did it because I never leave no tip. The hashbrowns are great but Easy down the street has better service.

The breakfast is decent here however today I went in for lunch and ordered the chicken club and it was awful. The chicken had zero flavour, was stone cold and totally unseasoned and bland. I didn’t eat it and left it on the plate, but the server never checked in or asked if something was wrong. They just cleared the untouched plate without offering an alternative or asked if something was wrong. Terrible food and disappointing service.
