Favourite coffee shop.
New favourite place in the city.
The staff are so kind, the mocha is delicious, and the books are beautiful. My first time going but it felt like home.
Sorry for being so incredibly awkward during my visit today, I was overwhelmed at how much I adored the shop and trying not to be weird about it (and failing terribly).
Canβt wait to go again :)

Only dropped in for a quick takeout cup of coffee on my way through New Toronto, but wish I had lingered. Hospitable host, a table of friendly regulars, intriguing atmosphere and a good beverage - a Lakeshore and Fifth Street gem!

This place is a rare jewel, filled with books, music and ambiance.
A must !
It is a very relaxing place where time slows down while reading a real book or chatting with strangers.
This is what a coffee should be about, not a boring place where people are isolated in their laptop or phone.

I walked in today to get my wife a sesame bagel with tomato, lettuce, butter and cream cheese. The owner let me know that they didnβt have lettuce, but spinach instead. I confirmed with her via text and ended up asking for just tomato butter and cream cheese for simplicity. I then paid and while he prepared the bagel I mentioned that I was visiting from a music studio around the corner and shockingly had never noticed this coffee shop (to make friendly small talk as he seemed friendly with another patron). While I waited, I texted my wife about how quaint and comfortable the place seemed and then she asked if there was a beverage for her to take medication with. I asked for an apple juice, then water to which the owner chuckled (at the juice) and then said βwe stopped selling water awhile agoβ I then asked for milk to which he responded no and then said βthereβs convenience stores in the areaβ. I was confused because I understood the juice was a longer shot but water and milk have always seemed like something you could get from a coffee shop. he also asked βIs that what someone is asking for?β I replied yes. I wonβt make assumptions based on his tone but I left feeling dismissed and Iβm not sure if he was having a rough day but the experience made me not want to go back. I was off put by the unnecessary comments/questions which is disappointing because it looked cool and I initially was sure I would be back.
