I'm from Pittsburgh, PA and came into town for The Era's Tour. I discovered The Bread Essentials on TikTok and knew as someone who is GF I had to stop. It was such a pleasant experience and I can't say enough nice things about Josie the owner. She was extremely knowledgable about every thing, recommended products, and even packed up all my frozen items to bring back to Pittsburgh. It was truly such an enjoyable experience.

Fantastic bakery serving fresh made breads, muffins, donuts, galettes, crullers, and much much more! The cruller was perfect in consistency and flavor. Galettes were amazing too, the dough was crunchy and chewy and the filling was perfectly sweetened. Gluten free! And many items that are also vegan.

I’m not even gluten free but I always buy my muffins here because they are the best. I’m a huge sanremo fan but the Bread Essentials muffins are by far my favourite ever! Also the lady who works at the front (I think her name is Josee or something) is so very kind she gave me tips on when to get the zucchini chocolate muffins since they’re always sold out!

My daughter and I were simply thrilled. A small, beautiful shop that has so many things that are often denied to you as a celibate in Germany. Everything was super delicious!
My absolute highlight were the meat pies. The hammer! My husband (not a celiac) also took action. When we ordered in advance by telephone, croissants were baked especially for us, which we were able to pick up without any problems.
For our onward journey to Montreal, we stocked up on frozen goods again so that our lunch was secured for the next day.
The owner - unfortunately I have forgotten her name - is a sweetheart, open, friendly, helpful, patient with our daughter; simply magical. She gave us so many great tips, all of which were worth checking out. THANK YOU SO MUCH ONCE MORE!!
The next time we visit Eastern Canada, we will definitely stop by here again.

Wow!!! The selection is amazing. The store is full of things I have forced myself to forget about due to never seeing gluten free options (corn dogs, Jamaican patties, pasta shapes other than penne and more). The parking is easy and the prices are reasonable. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I will be back!!

What a fabulous local, small-business! I have placed orders for a 9" gluten-free carrot cake for a special event as well as 6 gluten-free/dairy-free chocolate cupcakes. Not only were they the hit of the party, they were so incredibly tasting and delicious. The cream cheese icing on the carrot cake was delightful and the cake was moist (could have eaten the whole thing). The cupcakes were devoured by the GF guests at our event and they were so appreciative that we ordered them.I have to say that beyond the cake and cupcakes, it truly is the owner, Josée and her daughter and the entire team I interacted with by email, by phone and in person which really impressed me. They are super friendly, very service-oriented. They truly do have a commitment to make sure their customers are happy. I had a request to change the writing on the icing on the cake and Josée made sure this was done for us. Lately I have felt that customer service & the customer experience in the Retail market & in general has been deteriorating tremendously, but nothing could be further from the truth for “The Bread Essentials”. Josée and her team truly do care about their customers, and it shows in every interaction. Totally impressed and will definitely continue to support this fabulous business.Lastly, just have to say that the zuccini muffins (with chocolate chips) and the apple muffins are soooo good, I can't get my mouth to stop watering to get them again.Support this local buiness, they are wonderful at sharing their knowlege and making sure their customers make informed decisions and they truly were absolutely wonderful to deal with.
