The worse service ever. It took 30 minutes just get our drinks, our server didn’t take our order til almost 40 -50 minutes later after she went to a table that had got there after us took their drink and food order. It took us two hours to get our food. Another hour get our Checks. Our server went home anna we were pretty much forgotten about. I asked speak with a manager for over hour. They new gentlemen working their only two weeks he tried but definitely should not be by his self. We were here for over 3 hours for no reason !!! We’re visiting and when we come back we definitely our never coming back here ! The service ruined the whole entire experience the food was good, but the Service was absolutely horrible I’m highly disappointed!

I was welcomed with a cool and modest vibe. I've had the jerk chicken with rice and salad, the menu had a lot of great items like curry chicken and goat. The server was kind enough to give me different sauces and complimentary tasting cocktails. The jerk chicken tasted pretty good. I'd love to try other items on the menu

I was a takeout customer for jerk chicken, and the server girl secretly charged me over a 20% tip. The food was okay, though. I hope my tip goes to the kitchen 🙂

This hands down it the best Jamaican food I have had. Our server “Grace” was the best. We had the oxtail, jerk pasta, curry goat and fish all which were yummy and the portions were huge!!!! A must try!

As I approached the entrance, I noticed that a giant big group of people were just leaving, and that raised my expectations. Once they left and I went in, the waitress was working on the big job of cleaning up. She was so very pleasant and apologetic about being so busy, but she sat me right down and hosted me in the most pleasant manner. The meal was fantastic, the service was wonderful, and the place was clean. The pleasant atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable. I’ll be back.

I wish to personally endorse The Diner's Corner for authentic Jamaican cuisine!
I had an oxtail dinner with a side dish of plantains and Sorel which brought me back to the days of Mom's cooking a couple days ago.
The service was impeccable (thank you, Grace) and the atmosphere was very nice.
This was my second visit and on my first, I had a Jerk Chicken dinner which I also recommend.
I highly rate this restaurant and I plan to visit whenever I am feeling for Jamaican cuisine and am in the downtown area.

EDIT:
Tim was kind enough to admit the error in the plating, and rectify the situation with a better meal. He was super friendly and kind, and explained how the restaurant is meant to plate food. He said approximately, "When you finish packing the meal, it should look like something that excites you". That's the kind of management we need at Toronto restaurants.
Thank you Tim!
Tough af oxtail. The smallest festival I’ve ever seen. So much rice and no gravy. Like NONE.
That said the rice was perfectly cooked and well seasoned which is great since it was 75% of the dish.

I catered my husband's birthday party from here for 20 guests, and it was unforgettable. We had rice and peas, oxtail, jerk chicken, ackee and saltfish, and festival. Every bite was perfection. Fresh, flavorful, and nothing too salty or greasy. It felt like stepping off a plane in Jamaica and tasting jerk chicken sizzling straight off the grill. Absolutely incredible!

I had a disappointing experience during my recent visit to the diner's corner. service was far below expectations. One of the employees was extremely rude and dismissive when I asked for help. Their attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout my time there.
Customer service is a crucial part of the dining experience, and this interaction left a lasting negative impression. I hope management takes steps to improve staff training to ensure all guests are treated with respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.
Very bad experience

The management was not hospitable and offered items from the menu then served substitutions without explanation. They over charged us and when we requested the correct change they scoffed at us for the request. We were going return with a large crowd for dinner, but with the inconsistency and inconvenience we would not. We now understand why the steam table for the buffet brunch was empty of food and we were told that meals needed to be prepared upon request.

Came here for lunch and the food was quite delicious. The restaurant is more of a higher end type of Jamaican place as opposed to the mom and pops type but the still retains that homely feeling for food. Had the salt fish and ackee with ground provisions, shrimp roti and curry goat and wings as an appetizer. Other than the ackee dish being a bit too greasy and lukewarm with the food served in a bit of oil, the other dishes were quite good. Would try again.
Parking: Green P lot nearby is cheap, manulife Center is expensive

Had a small group dinner Friday night and everything went amazingly. The food was delicious and the service was great too. Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. Everyone in the group loved it. I definitely recommend this restaurant but make a reservation they're pretty busy if you have a small group. We will definitely go back.

Blandest ship roti in town. Mostly filled with curried potato. Passible oxtail.
