The Harbord House hosted an event on 11/11/25 that started at 6pm. We got there at 5:50pm and were informed that there's only 10 spaces and it's full. We spoke with the team earlier and informed them that we are 7 and they specifically said, as long as you get here before 6 we should be good. This is misleading, if they did not have space to host so many people they should have been outright with us.

The gastropub has a great atmosphere with two floors, a front patio, and a second-floor patio at the back. The service was good, and the beer selection was nice, with plenty of options to choose from. Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. The fish and chips came with a very thick batter that wasn’t fully cooked through and was overly oily. The special burger was also disappointing — a huge bun hiding a small, dry patty, barely any sauce, and just a slice of cheese. Both dishes came with fries that were far too salty. We also tried the cauliflower cheese dip, which turned out to be greasy and bland, and the pita pieces served with it were deep-fried, overly thick, and hard rather than crisp. Given all the positive reviews, I was hoping for a much better meal. Maybe we just got unlucky, but sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Excellent food. Prices are good. The chicken pot pie is very tasty, and the sticky toffee pudding is yummy. Our server is very cheerful and friendly, and makes us feel very welcome. There are some stairs if you have to go upstairs, and they are a bit tricky especially if you have large feet. Just be aware. Otherwise, a nice, casual place with a pub feel. Would return, and would like to try other items on the menu.

Absolutely spectacular venue, fabulous staff, the sticky toffee pudding and French onion soup are to die for. Also the fig salad! Harbord House hosted our final secret location for a puzzle-scavenger hunt and it was a hit with all our players. Very easy to book, team was amazing to work with, everyone was happy and deliciously well-fed.

Food was delicious, I recommend the Steak Salad, it was to die for. John Oakes who greeted us was the nicest guy on earth and welcomed us warmly, much appreciated as someone who newly moved to the area. Thank you John and Harbord House, highly recommend!
The restaurant was decorated with a home cozy style, the air conditioning works very well, the waitress was friendly, the food were tasty. I ordered a Moroccan chick pea and vegetable stew, it was surprisingly tasty. The meatloaf was tender and well seasoned. Definitely we will be there again.

Was passing by and decided to give it a try.
Service was quick, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I had the fish and chips—fish was fresh and well-cooked, but the chips were a bit over-fried and on the dry side.
Sat outside, but the street was under construction, so the usual patio vibe wasn’t really there (not their fault, just bad timing). I imagine it’ll be a lot more inviting once the construction’s done.
Food and drinks came out fast. Fair prices. Nothing over the top, but all in all, a nice experience.
