The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - York Street

Our server Stacey was amazing, very funny and kind. Food service was very quick, especially for a Saturday night. The food was cooked exactly to order, and drinks were delicious. Would recommend for anyone looking for a tasty, nice dinner.

Unbearable prime rib in a very nice location.
We got an outdoor table, fortunately far enough from the speaker as the music is very loud to be a restaurant.
Amazing staff, our server was friendly and caring.
I can’t wait to go back!

Service was HORRIBLE. Food was great. Never refilled our waters until we asked which took 15 minutes to get. Took 20 minutes to get soda. Barely checked in on us and does not care about younger people that were served here at this restaurant. 3 waiters looked at our empty glasses and didn’t even do anything. Bread took forever and we had to ask for it even though other people were served it automatically.

Our server was Harry and he crushed it. He had tables all over ( we counted 8 or 9) but we wanted for nothing. He even satisfied our strange requests of plates and bowls for our meal as we shared everything ( father daughter dinner). This location has never let us down in the service department and this was the 8th annual visit. See you next year!!!

This evening we celebrated a surprise 40th birthday for my sister. Everything was fabulous. Jonathan was our server and was excellent. He had a wonderful sense of humour and even gave my sister’s friends, who were visiting from Indiana, some suggestions of places to see and food to try while they’re in town. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend this location.

My friends and I went to The Keg at 165 York St for dinner today and unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

We were warmly welcomed by a waiter when we arrived, which we appreciated. But once seated at Table 103, our experience with our server (waitress) was discouraging. After the power outage, we understood there would be challenges, but instead of keeping us informed, she told us the kitchen was closed. When we asked about dessert, she said only cheesecake was available, which we ordered. Later, we noticed other tables receiving menus and food. When we asked again about the kitchen, she said salads were available, which left us shocked. This inconsistency was very frustrating.

We also had to ask for water, and our plates were cleared without asking if we were finished. These may seem like small gestures, but they make a big difference. Maybe she was having a hard day, but as a waitress, basic etiquette and fair treatment should always be maintained.

What hurt the most was feeling judged. We were the only South Asian group in the restaurant, and while we don’t want to assume, the difference in how we were treated compared to others was disheartening. We have never treated anyone that way, and it was painful to feel that directed at us.

We understand that unexpected things happen, like a power outage, but respectful communication and equal treatment matter most. We hope this feedback helps improve service so no future guests feel the way we did.

We have been before and enjoyed it a lot, this time was not quite as good as we had high expectations. Unfortunately fire alarm was going on while we were there they did apologise and it was out of their control but definitely did disrupt the meal. We were told to wait it out or we could cancel our order. We went for my friends birthday which they did not acknowledge typically they are very good at this. Our server also was quite slow but still pleasant. Overall still a good experience.

I was entertaining my nephew from Japan. The food was excellent and the server was wonderful! I have been going to the Keg for 51 years and it rarely disappoints.

The Keg was a disappointment. Our server was great and all the staff were friendly but my meal did not live up to expectations. My steak was cooked perfectly but was tasteless, I needed to add a lot of salt and pepper to help with flavouring. It came with a double baked potato which was tasty and a small portion of green beans and two lumps of beetroot. I won't be back.

Always a stellar experience at the Keg on York Street. We come back every year as part of our annual boys trip and this is one of the things we look the most forward to. We always receive amazing service by people who care, the food is always perfectly cooked and on point, and it's overall an amazing experience.

While we did enjoy our time as we always do, the service took a bit longer than we are usually accustomed to at the Keg in terms of taking our order and service to the table. The music level was a bit louder than usual and that caused some over stimulation and made it harder to have a conversation.

Heather the server was fantastic! The food and service was great however the music could have been slightly better.

The steak was on point, worth visiting.
