A resilient spot (!) that seems to evolve with every incarnation. Top of the list of places to visit whenever I’m home. There’s nothing quite like it.

incredible dishes prepared by a chef & team that is clearly obsessed with food. everything we ordered was so thoughtful and balanced and delicious. definitely recommend coming here if you love not only eating delicious food, but discussing it as well.

Very good, the wine tasted a little cheap, but other than that I would come again.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in the city. Had a spectacular bottle of wine and the most magnificent meal, cannot wait to go back.

The perfect spot for a date night. My partner and I had many dishes off the regular menu, specials for the evening, dessert and wine. This is one of the best restaurants in Toronto in my opinion. The pate was the best I have ever had and I still think about the honey cake weekly. Service was fantastic. We sat at the bar and the ambience was cozy and romantic. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

I came to Stop hoping for a cozy, intimate dinner for two — and it hit the mark beautifully. The space is softly lit, with a low hum of conversation that makes it easy to talk, but also allows for those comfortable silences that make a night feel unrushed and personal.

The menu is clearly designed with sharing in mind — each dish arrives plated in a way that invites passing forks and shared reactions. It gave us enough options to spark interest without overwhelming us with choices. Everything we tried felt considered, balanced, and easy to enjoy together.

Service was another highlight — attentive, never intrusive. Courses arrived at a relaxed pace that let the evening unfold naturally, with no sense of being hurried along.

If I had one small suggestion, it would be to consider offering an orange wine by the glass — especially with duck being one of the standout mains. It felt like a missed opportunity for a perfect pairing.

Overall, Stop is a lovely choice for a quiet evening with someone you care about — unpretentious, warm, and quietly confident.

Food was just ok. Was my first time trying pate en croute. I’m sure they did the recipe well because it has all the elements I read online but it just doesn’t taste as nice as I expected. Cured salmon is very fresh and tasty. That was the best with the butter. Mushroom pancake… missing enough crème fraiche. Small dollop is not enough for the whole pancake so flavours were unbalanced towards the outside where it’s just dry pancake. Could’ve used a bit more herbs and that oomph because the mushrooms were too plain so were a bit bland. Service is excellent and nice vibes though

Probably one of the best & most under-rated dining experiences … not just in the west end.
The trout special with Scallop mousse and white asparagus wrapped in pastry was the most unique dish we’ve had in a long time.

had such a wonderful time at Stop. we sat at the bar and enjoyed the chefs menu which was three courses of delicious food and ended with probably the best lemon tart i’ve ever had. I enjoyed the food so much I forgot to keep taking photos before eating lol. the bartender was so helpful with wine and made a delicious martini. will be back!!!!
