Very uncomfortable and pretentious vibe, especially from the male barista.
Other than that good food and coffee.

One of my favorite hidden spots to work or relax. 😇.
It’s a bit off the beaten path, which keeps it peaceful, and totally worth the trip.
👍The space is cozy and full of natural light, with plenty of outlets for laptops and phones.
Staff are lovely, drinks are solid (especially the hot chocolate — best I’ve had, and under $5 with oat milk!).
Some seating isn’t the most ergonomic, and the music can be a touch loud, but overall it’s a charming, affordable café I’ll keep coming back to.
🤗I definitely recommend it

A lovely hidden gem of a cafe with a beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff, great for a casual coffee or snacks in a cozy comfortable space. The cookies are my favourite, all the pastries are really good. Drinks are reasonably priced. Great alternative to a commercial coffee shop or bar.
I had the worst experience in this cafe. Randomly went there for a chai latte. The guy at the counter said “ we have chai tea bags not syrup” and I was like that’s fine. As I was sitting for my order I could hear the staff talking between themselves “ you should have said NO you don’t have chai latte. I don’t understand what expectations people have with chai latte. Like what exactly are they looking for . Oh yeah Indians usually drink it”
I could hear all this very loud & clear which also made me feel very uncomfortable. I took my order and walked away.
My feedback : Chai latte is very common in every cafe. Yes a customer have two ears and can hear you very clearly. If you can’t respect your customer and talk so loudly that you make them feel uncomfortable then you are doing a very bad job and your customer service sucks. Also you could have just said no instead of all this. Chai latte you gave me was terrible.
Great local place to meet people for coffee. Very cozy. Good coffee and tasty treats. Will have to return in the evening to try the cocktails and happy hour offerings.
Lovely café at the Theatre Centre, the team makes the food there.
There are several vegan savoury options which is great. A tofu and pepper sandwich, another tofu sandwich can be made vegan and savoury potato and pea patties with tamarind sauce.
Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian and vegan options
Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options

Review from a local resident. Nice location with good coffee, unfortunately poor customer service from male barista this morning 28/09/2024. Typically service is good, however very uninviting today, unlikely to return.

That Peter Guy is so funny! Came in for a latte and stayed for the stand-up! Great service. Great atmosphere. Good conversation.
If you happen to pass by the Cafe, be sure to ask Peter about his bit on new subway drivers.

A very beautifully designed yet accessible space, with a thriving pollinator garden outside! You get the sense everyone here are artists, but in a kind and grounded way. Come for the vibes, cool coffee table books, and a curated selection of spirits.
I've been here several times for Theatre Centre events and always enjoyed refueling at the Theatre Centre Café/Bar with a glass of water and a dose of the ambience. But I just tried a latte made by barista (i.e. espresso artist) Brea and it was really good. More than excellent customer service.

What a cozy & beautiful hidden gem. I write this because it deserves it— whilst lowkey selfishly afraid too many people will find it & it’ll get packed.Plenty of daylight, desks for remote work & fantastic coffee.Get an americano from James. He’s an absolute legend; serves it right to your table & your preference.Xanath is lovely. Sets up a dope and welcoming atmosphere.I found this place a little over a month ago— and have been here 20+ times. That says it.They have reward system, every 5 coffee’s your 6th is free. Every 10th, you get a free ticket to a theatre show. Pretty sick. And they got happy hour everyday from 3-6pm too, for any peeps interested ✌?That’s it. Come see it for yourself.
