On a bust Saturday night, servers were pushed to keep up with the crowd. In our case, drinks were slow to arrive, the requested ice never came, and we had to ask for pepper. (There were no condiments on the tables.) The food was good, the wine typically pricey ($19 for a 5oz glass). Nice to see a few Canadian choices on the win list.

Food was amazing, service was horrible. Waited nearly 20 minutes for our drinks our waitress brought our appetizer & she just dropped it at the table and took off without even noticing our drinks weren't there yet. The waitress came back to take our empty app plate and still she didn't notice that we still didn't have our drinks until I asked her where they were. She finally brought them over and that was the last time we saw her until she came to drop off the dessert menu. Never came to check how our meal was or ask if we wanted another drink. We were planning on getting dessert but decided against it due to the lack of service. I got the 12 oz steak and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. This was our first time in Toronto and we plan to come back but will definitely not be coming back here.

The FOOD was horrendous for the price that I paid. I ordered the lasagna but when they served it to me I questioned if they might have made a mistake. My friend also ordered the gnocchi and they were also rlly bad. The tiramisu was pretty good tho.

I thought the food was just alright, it was overly salty and the portions were very small. The service was underwhelming, a half empty restaurant and it took us a while of standing there before the hostess even bothered to acknowledge us. Then once sat down, waited another long while before the waiter came to give us water and take our orders. Weird considering the restaurant was not busy at all. For mediocre food, and bad service, I would not recommend. Way better options in the city.

Horrible smell of fish as soon as you walk in and the waiters are so rude. I was almost attacked for carrying in a shopping bag; apparently they don’t like that there. Better places to be found.

We have been to many of the restaurants in this chain. This is by far the worse. We ordered 3 appetizers and a steak to share. The 3 appetizers all arrive at the same time. They take up the whole table. By the time we got to the third one it was ice cold. Main meal arrives and our side plates are dirty, forks are dirty. Our steak is dropped on the table. We ask for a clean plate and fork. But did not notice that there were no serving utensils. We literally had to serve the food by hand. Moving on a glass is broken at the table beside me. I say I think I am ok. So I am ignored. They start picking up the glass as I removing glass from my clothing. None of the staff care. Finally the bill comes and the server hangs over me watching me pay. So uncomfortable. Then we leave. I shake out the rest of the glass from my coat and we were happy to leave. Never going here again. Not going to another one if their restaurants again. Done.

It's a nice Italian restaurant with a modern and relaxed vibe. Food was average with unexpectedly small portions. My son loved the tagliatelle bolognese. We got awesome service from our server Jonas, who went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with everything. He also had a sincere attitude and showed a clear passion for his job. Mercatto is lucky to have him.
