Sitting in the lobby of the downtown Hilton makes the space far from intimate, but the food was very good (I had the excellent cassoulet, my friend had the slightly overcooked steak frites), the service was top notch and the wine list well thought out

Decor is nice. Service was good. Friendly and attentive server. Cocktails were tasty. Food was tasty. The only hiccup was that the bank machine wasn't working and it took half an hour to pay. Managers were helpful in trying to resolve the issue.

I was quite excited to try it after reading the review in the Globe on the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised that every dish we ordered was outstanding. They were all simple, elegant and delicious. The basic Salade Verte had a perfect vinaigrette. The Brie was sublime and the truffle made it excellent. The oysters were delicious malpeque oysters. One of my group mentioned grit in her's but I didn't have any. The mains of Moules were great and amazing frites. Maybe a bit hard to get to the broth in the mussels for the shape of the serving dish. Once got down a bit was better. The bouillabaisse I only tried the crostini and the shrimp which were excellent. Cost wise, we were very impressed with the prices as they were reasonable for DT Toronto. The bouillabaisse being the priciest thing we had. Mussels and frites very reasonable. The sommelier was great and offered us a complimentary cava when our wine wasn't as cold as he wanted it to be which was a great gesture. Very hard to criticize anything to be honest which is shocking for me. Can't wait to go back.

The room is beautiful and everything is new. There are plenty of staff members but they seem to be out of sync with their customers. Sometimes the service is efficient, other times it is lax. Our water glasses were empty for the longest time, and nobody noticed. But the biggest disappointment is the food. Two of the starters arrived cold; one was so overcooked it was as tough as plastic. The selection of dessert is limited and our choices took a very long time to arrive. In conclusion, this is an attractive new restaurant offering sub-par French-ish food served by friendly but indifferent staff. That would be kind of acceptable if the prices were lower. Caveat: we dined in the restaurant's second week. Here's hoping that they'll get their act together and improve the food and service.

The service was fantastic and the food just wonderful. I had the chicken cutlet and would go back to have that again and again. The chocolate cake was heavenly. The hint of orange added so much. My friend was thrilled with both her main and dessert. She had the croque madam and profiteroles. The seating is very comfortable and the tables are not crowded together. Highly recommend for a drink or dinner.

The restaurant just opened 3 days before. Small adjustments still needed but excellent friendly service. Variable choices on the french inspired menu. Qualititave food and good vibes on Saturday thanks to a DJ set on spot. The restaurant is located inside Hilton hotel

For $32 one would expect real orange juice. Nope, it was tang.By 9:30 am all the fruit was gone. Nobody replaced the tray. Not too impressed with this breakfast.

Tundra has been a go to destination for us whenever we have stayed at the Hilton Toronto Downtown. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. A number of the servers have been there for many years (sign of a good work culture). Our server Neaz embodies the high standard of service at Tundra.

Edit: I got a response to this review and called the manager, who was extremely pleasant and helped me out exactly. I appreciate the timely response. Thank you!I wouldn't know. I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone.

Having eaten here for well over a decade, I would avoid it and say don't bother until the renovation of the lobby is done. In fact they should have not bothered with the "pop up" location on the second floor while the lobby reno was underway. The room is crowded with tables, the ambiance is that of an airport Holiday Inn breakfast hall. The staff was friendly enough but the hostess seemed disinterested and the waitress was ok, but not on the usual. The food gets a sold D rating when it used to be A+ in the past. The price is outrageous given the surroundings, set up, quality of food. Two salads plus protein, no alcohol, tax and tip in the range of 2 to 3 times what you would expect. This pop up is hurting the reputation of a once favourite lobby restaurant. SHUT IT DOWN now, or save your reputation and change the name, and drop those prices.

Tundra was always my go-to pre-theatre restaurant. I told my guests,"The food is good, service is great and it has appropriate pre-show ambience". Last night was such a disappointment. While I understand being in the midst of a lobby renovation is challenging - don't charge the same price, aka expensive, for lesser food in a room that felt like a Holiday Inn breakfast hall. Definitely will not return.

Tundra has been moved to what I can only call a meeting room on the second floor. It has none of the interest/ambiance that it had while in the lobby. Given the complete lack of ambiance, the food, while ok, is well overpriced.

Tundra was relatively quiet, and the food was excellent. The server was a lovely young woman who had obviously not been trained fully...willing but somewhat clueless. We waited 12 minutes before we were spoken to; she forgot my tea order for another 15 til I reminded her; wasn't sure they had a bottle of sparkling water. What?? They did, but to even question it in a spot where the entrees are $30-50 was a bit silly. No windows...is weird. The Lobby Restaurant is far better.
