Wah Sing has been a go to restaurant for many years now. When I want a lobster dinner I always head here with friends. You get 2 lobsters cooked as you like it. We usually get lobster fried with ginger or black bean sauce. The price has certainly gone up over the years. It's now $52 for 2 lobsters. We usually have crab fried rice and Cantonese chow mein with the lobster. It's more than enough for 3-4 people. The staff are very friendly and service is quick. The decor is not fancy so no need to dress up.

My family and I have come to this restaurant for over 30 years now. We are very sadden by the quality of food this restaurant has delivered over the couple of years but after today, we won’t be coming back. We have never had the food lack in flavour this much. The only thing good about this restaurant is now their tea and long time served fortune cookie. Like their brother restaurant, I’m not sure how long they will last. I’ve been here since I was 4 years old and after today feel like I’ve lost something very dear to me and our family.

I was looking forward to try this restaurant due to the reviews I have read. I ordered the sweet spare ribs, soft shell crab and a fish with bean curd pot. What came out was shocking. The ribs was clearly deep fried hours ago, with little meat on the bones. The fish and beancurd was equally disappointing. The fish was heavily coated with potato starch and the fish was in tiny slivers, all smothered in a watery sauce. The soft shell crab was cold , salty and heavily battered. All dishes were cold with no flavour. The waitress offered to change the dishes and I ordered the beef in oyster sauce and salt paper pork. Both dishes were not only over salted but tasteless and cold. The beef came grey, watery and practically tasteless. The salt pepper pork was thin and heavily battered with a yellow batter. It was perhaps the WORSE Chinese meal I had in my entire life. Total bill $75. I gave 10%tip because the waitresses should not be deprived of it just because the kitchen was completely incompetent.

Would NOT recommend!!!! BEWARE of the Ginger Lobster!!!! I been going to Wah Sing for over 25 years. I would order the Ginger Lobster. Quality of the lobster is going downhill! Lobster portions are getting smaller and the lobster is NOT fresh, DRY and over cooked. Lobster(S) taste like they are a couple of days old and was re-reheated / re-cooked. Felt sick the next day. My friend and I would prefer a FULL refund of $74 cost over $37 for each Lobster). We have no intention returning to this restaurant. Monty, the owner refuses to give us a full refund. He lost a long time customer.

Delicious food but disappointing portions. Ordered two double lobsters and it did not have much meat. Server was rude when our table ordered. She did not have the patience to take our order and kept rushing us. The server became even more upset when we ordered food for take out for friends at home. Ridiculous experience for a dinner that cost $80 per person.

Would not recommend.2 stars for the food, the portions were dropped to HALF PORTIONS since last we ate here and prices have gone WAY up. The flavour was there for the lobster, soft shell crab, the chowmein (eh), fried rice, fried chicken and crab and corn chowder but the Wonton soup had absolutely no flavour. We had a group of 20 come in so we had 3 tables. We had each table under separate bills. We order our first batch of food... the food came and because the portions were cut in half we were ALL still hungry. So we thought we would order more.... I asked the lady if I could order more food (more food more money for them, right?) Wrong. The lady was upset that I didn't place the order all at once. She actually lectured me about efficiency and how she doesn't want to keep coming back to place orders... She completely killed our appetite. We just ordered one more plate of soft shelled crab and chowmein and we were done with this place. I have never been treated this badly before, straight up to my face and for a family that brought them $700 in profit... plus the 18% gratuity the terrible woman added. I never got her name but she was the woman with short hair. There was only one other woman there and she had long hair and she was nice. I wish she was our server. We drove 1.5 hour just for this restaurant only to be SUPERBLY DISAPPOINTED.To be clear we weren't upset by the portions, inflation, although if you're going to raise the price at least keep the portion size. What killed our mood to eat was this TERRIBLE WOMAN. We ended up eating at another place called the Taste of China, yea.. $700 and we had to eat else where.Terrible, terrible service. The price of a lobster now is $60, good for 2 people or less.

I have been going to Wah sing for 35 years, give or take a few. During that time, there has been a change of ownership. With such change, the quality of food has gone down drastically since its heyday. Wah sing used to be synonymous with its spectacular 2 for 1 lobster special with delicious Cantonese food. Not anymore. The price of 2 for 1 lobster is now $50 plus and the portion size has been GREATLY reduced. I am not ignorant of the fact that there is an inflation and everything has gone up price. You can see for yourself how much the quantity has gone down if you dare to visit. Finally, the taste of food I adored is now disappeared for good. I am saddened to say the iconic Baldwin village restaurant once I cherished is now became a generic restaurant and I won't be making a trek to downtown anymore.

Food was not good. Their food had peas in it and the peas tasted semi frozen. Their lobster was little and not enough meat. Their service was atrocious that at 9:30 they were demanding we finish ordering because their kitchen was closing soon (at 10:30). They essentially took my plate away while i was still eating the food on it. Then asked us to leave becasue they were closed. We were all still eating the food. I will not go back.

After I aced a presentation at school yesterday I decided to hit up this spot since I hadn’t been since the pandemic hit. This place does not miss when it comes quality great tasting food. Minus the 2yrs of of the lockdown I’ve been going here since about 2013. The food and the service is wonderful. Even after an uncertain 2yrs I was delighted at the fact that they haven’t sacrificed the great food and service that they’re known to have. The host was telling me yesterday how wonderful the boss has been especially during the pandemic and I think that says alot about this establishment.I’ll definitely be returning. I live for their ginger lobster!

One of my favourite Chinese restaurant! It’s authentic and a MUST if you’re in Toronto. The black bean sauce lobster, soft shell crab, clay pot tofu, and beef rice noodles were all phenomenal. Will definitely be coming back for more. It was truly an enjoyable experience. Thank you ?

Such amazing food. Returning customers and have really missed this place. This is the best authentic Chinese restaurant in all of Toronto. My family and I have continued to come here my entire lifetime. It’s a staple in the well established neighbourhood and we will be lifeline customers. Hope to be back soon.

For many years, pre-pandemic my friends and I went to Wah Sing on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, mini-reunions and when entertaining guests from out of town. The food has always been superb and service was friendly. Since the pandemic, we have missed our gatherings at this restaurant and we have been craving their food. We are giving in to our craving ordering food for our next get-together.
