Service is great but the food is fantastic! Fois gras, carpaccio, tuna and wild board were our choices and all were amazing!!!

Excellent service and the meals are to die for. Perfect size and superb flavor. I had the beef carpaccio and seared tuna as my main and it was the perfect combo. I definitely recommend it. Both are surprisingly flavourful. I do not regret one bit

Booked a table 6 months in advance, canceled on me 3 days prior to our visit because they realized they have a wedding party that day, which also was booked several months in advance. Really disappointed, if the wedding was booked that far in advance you should have let us know earlier. Now we have to deal with the situation to find a nice restaurant 3 days in advance, which is kinda impossible. Thanks for that.

David was just the best. Great food, good ambiance, nice vibe. The duck was tender. The carpaccio was supreme. It’s a little hardy but well planned. We loved it.

My fiancé had a really unfortunate experience at woods on Thursday night. Granted it was a last minute choice due to every other restaurant being packed, she thought that she got lucky since woods had plenty of seats open. She went in a group of 5 and was seated quickly but was greeted by a staff who was wearing a bright blue blazer and a graphic tee underneath. The waiter was overly friendly and very intrusive and rude as he kept interrupting their conversation.
Service aside the meal had a lot of room for improvement as well.
To start, I recommend that keep an eye on how much water you are getting as they charge you a bit for the still water
The ordered dish was the HALIBUT for $39 which had warm tomato salad, chorizo (super salty), purple potato quenelle, crispy quinoa(tasteless and had the texture of uncooked rice) avocado mousse olive dust. The halibut was very under seasoned so it was unfortunately disappointing. All dishes, including the halibut, had great presentation but was average overall.
Onto the dessert
After the main course, she didn’t feel the need to have dessert at the restaurant but they brought out a tray and said “we wanted to give you the Canadian experience” no consent, no allergen check, and intrusive comment. Can’t say I’m impressed. The maple syrup was also slightly fermented and sour. I think if there is a saving grace, it might be the drinks. Did not try any but they seemed decent

Hard to review. Lots of promise, but could do better. Dishes were structurally sound and well prepared but underseasoned. The kitchen seems to have been a bit scared to be too bold on seasonings. The knife selection box was truly original, but my chosen knife wasn't sufficiently sharp. If you make a big show of your knives they should be ridiculously sharp. Mine wasn't. Lots of promise but some work to do.

David was excellent serving us. I had the clients there for a business dinner and the service was amazing. We even were offered and unprompted syrup tasting. Truly an impressive dinner and really resonated with my clients. Thank you very much.

Found this restaurant through Instagram and was a little sceptical at first. Their food was truly delicious and amazing. The service was very helpful and professional. The seared tuna and scallops were a 10/10 for me. The boar was a 9/10 was very well done. The drinks they have are very delicious. For a restaurant on the fancier side the prices weren’t too bad. When busy it is on the louder side but you are still able to talk. Make a reservation as you will not have to wait.
Perfect dining experience. Worth the price. The decor sets the tone for a romantic evening. Beautifully decorated. Our waiter, Sammy was knowledgeable about the menu, both wine and food. He took excellent care of us with a lot of personal attention. The food was flavorful and delicious and beautifully presented. We were not rushed. It was quiet enough to talk with chill jazz music in the background. The heirloom tomato salad was fresh and summery and the Wild boar (something I'd never had before) was delicious. My husband had the scallops and the ravioli and enjoyed these dishes as well. This was more than just dinner but a dining experience. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Service was very slow. If it was any slower it would have been really bad. Also the dessert leaved a little bit to be desired other than that we had a nice dinner
I had an absolutely exceptional experience at Woods Restaurant, and I can’t speak highly enough about both the food and the service. From the moment I walked in, I felt truly welcomed and cared for…a rare feeling these days in the hospitality industry.
A special thank you to Robin, the manager, whose warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism set the tone for the entire evening. He truly goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable experience. And our server Sami was equally impressive, courteous, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional. The service was seamless from start to finish.
I ordered the Cordon Bleu Chicken, and it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Every bite reflected the kitchen’s attention to quality and detail.
Woods Restaurant combines exceptional cuisine with top-tier customer service, making it a standout spot for anyone looking to enjoy a refined and welcoming dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning, and recommending it to everyone I know.
Amazing food, drinks, and service. Sheliza and Enda really made my visit special. Definitely try the Elk tartare, it was SO GOOD!!
Woods is one of those rare Toronto spots that feels like a little escape from the city. The décor is lush and romantic—dim lighting, twinkling string lights, natural elements like trees and greenery—it really lives up to its name. It’s an ideal spot for a date night or any special occasion.
To begin, we were offered a complimentary slice of bread each, along with a small pad of butter to share. A nice gesture, though it felt a little sparse for a table of two. We started our evening with a couple of cocktails—the Canadian Manhattan and the Niagara Peach. While both were enjoyable, they lacked a bit of punch and felt somewhat diluted.
For appetizers, we chose the heirloom beet salad and the elk tartare. Both were plated beautifully and had well-balanced flavours. The beet salad was bright and creamy thanks to the goat cheese mousse, while the elk tartare had a rich, earthy taste with a nice crunch from the crisp topping.
Our mains were the halibut and the braised bison short rib. The halibut was tender and paired well with its accompaniments, and the bison was hearty and comforting. That said, the portion sizes felt on the small side, especially considering the price point.
Service was kind and courteous. We ended up skipping dessert because we had tickets to a show and ran out of time—unfortunate, as we were looking forward to trying something sweet.
All in all, Woods offers a beautiful setting and thoughtfully crafted Canadian dishes. If you're planning to go, make sure to leave yourself plenty of time to relax and enjoy the evening—this is more of a slow, indulgent dinner experience than a quick night out.
Very attentive service, inventive presentation of the mains, and cocktails were top quality.
