The atmosphere at Writer’s Room Bar was truly amazing, stylish, cozy, and perfect for a night out. Service was pleasant as well. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the vibe. I ordered the steak with mushrooms, and it was overwhelmingly salty, surprisingly so, especially since I usually enjoy salty flavours. Overall, it’s a great place for drinks and ambiance, but the food could definitely use some improvement.

The only saving grace for this bar is the view. The staff are snooty, the service is terrible - multiple bartenders and servers for about 5 tables and the service was still slow.
The cocktails are terrible. We were given popcorn for the table and it was stale.
Overall, if you’re there for the view, there are better bars with the same view. If you’re there for the drinks, go to any other bar in Yorkville.

As a guest of the hotel, I was very disappointed with the service at the lounge. We were celebrating my sister’s bachelorette and looked forward to a simple drink, but the hostess, Melanie, made the experience unnecessarily difficult. Although the lounge was half empty, we were told the entire space was reserved and had to wait. After 15 minutes, we were finally seated — time we could have already been enjoying our evening. For a hotel of this caliber, the service felt dismissive and underwhelming.

I was underwhelmed by my visit here. The Korean fried chicken arrived cold and lacked freshness, and the cocktails didn’t stand out—both the flavors and presentation fell short. While many nearby spots offer much stronger food and drink options, this one didn’t quite meet expectations.
One small detail that added to the experience: we noticed other tables received complimentary popcorn, but ours did not.

We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious drinks and the incredible view. The waiter was also very friendly and quite knowledgeable about the beverages. My husband and I had a wonderful date night.
We came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday and were very disappointed. The staff was extremely rude and unwelcoming, and the service was painfully slow. We had to wait far too long for our food, and when it finally arrived, there was no apology or effort to make things right. Definitely not the kind of experience you expect when dining out for a special occasion. Would not recommend.
