The Chefs present each plate like a work of art with great care and precision. Lovely staff and all are very friendly. I've ordered takeout and sat in for lunch; impeccable service every time, and delicious food. It's a five-star from me on every level: service, cleanliness, atmosphere, quality of food and value for money. I LOVE this place.

I had Teriyaki Salmon and it was ok. Will be back for their sushi/maki/sashimi as I heard a lot abot this place. Atmosphere was great for my business conversation but might be too quiet for a fun hangout. Overall I know I will be back.

We were in the area and decided to try this place, and it turned out to be a great experience. The food was delicious, and we got a little side table that felt so private and cozy! The waitress was also very knowledgeable and attentive, especially when I mentioned my wheat allergy.
If we’re back in the area, we’ll definitely return.

Sat down at 7:20 and ordered around 7:30, then didn't receive our food until 8:30. We were just about to leave before our food came. No mention made to us about the potential wait time beforehand. We received about 2 Tbsp of rice with our main entree, which felt insulting at that point. Asked for more rice and waited another 10mins for it to come, which interrupted our meal halfway.
Overall the food is good but the portion sizes are not reasonable. There was no reason to serve such a small amount of rice in a $30 meal. Wait times should be communicated; we would've been happy to go to another restaurant down the street if we had known.
Had high hopes for this sushi restaurant as it’s one of the more expensive ones available on Queen Street East. Although the inside is beautiful and gave it 5 stars for atmosphere, it didn’t change the fact that the sushi/rolls/ pizza all tasted “off” and extremely fishy. We didn’t even finish a lot of what we ordered unfortunately.
The BEST sushi I've had in Toronto. I'd recently been lamenting the lack of actual fresh, delicious sushi in Toronto until I wandered into this place on a Sunday night. I ordered the chef's box for about $34 - a little pricier than most places but very worth it for what you get. This isn't your typical sushi place that tastes like an imitation of everywhere else - everything felt like it had a special touch and was so tasty. The sashimi was excellent - as good as the best I've gotten on the west coast. + at the end a server ran after me when I forgot my leftovers on the table 😅 very sweet and sealed the deal as my new favorite sushi place in Toronto.
Food is excellent but it always takes 45 mins for an appetizer and an hour for the main to hit the table.
Amazing quality sushi. The tuna was so good. Great menu with many options to pick from. I am looking forward to coming back

Sorry- we were too hungry to take pics of food! It was excellent. Especially the spicy fish soup- my goodness best thing ever. My husband had the vegetarian dragon roll made with tofu on top and eggplant in the centre and it was very good! I had the salmon dragon making- also excellent! But the spicy fish soup was the highlight I will go back just for that!

Our absolute favourite! Our number one go-to spot for dinner. The quality of fish far surpasses any other spot of the same price point. Chef Lee, James, Sam and everyone else at Yumei are absolutely wonderful and we always have the best time.

I have to say I was extremely surprised by the quality of food at this restaurant. On average, I would eat sushi once a week and Vancouver and Cabo san Lucas. As you can imagine the seafood there is very fresh. Not only was our meal here spectacular but they had a personalized touch they made. The Ebi Salad was spectacular. The entire meal was excellent. Loved it as much as I did. it’s only the second time I’ve eaten sushi since being here in Toronto and so far is the best. Highly recommend.
