This was our second visit to Watercolour, this time to celebrate a family birthday, and it truly reaffirmed why it’s our go-to special occasion restaurant in Unionville and Markham. High-quality American and Mediterranean cuisine can be hard to find in the area, and Watercolour consistently delivers. The team was so thoughtful in accommodating our request for a highchair for our little one, which we really appreciated. The food never disappoints. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and high quality, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The calamari was a standout and a crowd-pleaser across the table, from under 1 to 60+. May and Michelle took wonderful care of us. Even with our little ones, they were patient, kind, and generous with their time while managing several other tables that afternoon. Their service made the celebration feel even more special. We will absolutely be back for our next milestone.

We dined at Watercolor for a girls’ night and had a great time. Food was on point, steak was cooked medium rare with a nice char, pasta was flavorful, seafood was fresh. Our wait staff Nick was attentive and professional.
It just started to get loud and hard to talk

Loved the lemon meringue dessert! Also tried the seafood risotto and special of ribeye steak skewer and fries.

Food and service was great. Definitely a bit loud on the ground floor. Cost is about in par for the quality of the food. Portions are larger for a high end restaurant but aren't huge.
Fantastic atmosphere. Would highly recommend going at least once, the food also comes in huge portions which explains the price tag.
However, the food was a little disappointing.
The octopus starter came with capers and hummus. I love hummus but it made no sense with octopus.
The salmon main course was cooked with the skin on, but was served skin side down?! Which turned the skin completely soggy and inedible. Which was surprising to see at a fine dining restaurant.
Our second main dish was the lobster pasta. It was cooked in a floral tomato sauce which again made no sense with the lobster.
The service was ok, nothing bad but also not memorable. I wouldn’t care normally but for a 120$/person restaurant, I expected more attention.
Overall, I’d probably visit again and give them a second chance with some of the other dishes.

Excellent service and food! attentive team! Good suggestions, the only thing that I would change is to turn down the music! The ambiance so far was very very nice!
Food was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The interior design, music and overall aesthetic enhanced the overall experience. It is all set in the quaintness of Unionville village.
The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, but service was impressively quick and genuinely friendly, which immediately made the experience feel welcoming. The carpaccio was fine, pleasant but fairly straightforward, but everything else we ordered was excellent
The octopus was tender, and hearty, paired nicely with potatoes, hummus, some greens, and capers. It was well-balanced and satisfying without feeling heavy. The steak came out a perfect medium-rare and juicy. The nut topping on the fish added a really nice crunch, contrasting beautifully with the soft, tender flesh of the fish.
And then there was the duck: the clear standout of the night. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The fat kept it incredibly juicy without feeling greasy. The charred cabbage on the side added a subtle smokiness that tied everything together perfectly. Every bite honestly made me happier and happier.
Getting to the restaurant was a little confusing at first, but once you’re there, it’s absolutely worth it. A really enjoyable meal overall, and especially memorable for that duck dish. Definitely a place I’d return to.

Made reservations to not wait but had to wait 20 mins before we were seated. Kinda disappointing. Food was okay. The dessert, don't get the flourless chocolate brownie one.
The food is average. Not worth the price . The waitress was really nice but they seemed to be short staffed . The food came cold. We were asked to leave our table after 1 hr and 45 minutes because they needed the table which I thought was very unprofessional. I would never go back
Celebrated my birthday with my wife. The food was top tier and atmosphere was nice. Service was on point as well.

Parking can be found behind the restaurant.
The restaurant is a bit dark inside for dinners.
Very good service. However, the risotto was just okay. Lobster pasta was tasty in comparison. A slice of basque cheesecake for $18 was overkill for what you get (this type of cake is everywhere in Markham - a higher price point did not necessarily indicate any great difference in taste).
