“Coming back after 3 years:
The quality is top-notch. The portion is huge (even bigger than other Persian restaurants that are usually larger than the norm). Price vs portion vs quality is super competitive. I will definitely be back. The tables are limited. Reservation is recommended. Special Lamb Neck is my recommendation here.

Much better than what I expected. Great Kababs and better than those are their stews. I normally never order stew when we have Kabab in the menu. But, their Gheimeh stew with eggplants was one of the best I have ever had in a while. The portion size is really huge as we want to see it in a Persian restaurant. Kind and welcoming staff. I will definitely come back.“

And that's not just us saying so: our guests -- Persians, so they know their stuff! -- loved the food as well. We sampled and shared chicken, beef and lamb dishes. I ordered the Chenjeh kebab with rice, which came with a small yogurt bowl and a soft drink. I’m writing this after I finished my meal—so no photos, because it was too good and it’s already gone!

“What really makes Dorchin special is the amazing hospitality! The owner personally came to our table and chatted with us about Persian food with so much warmth and passion. You can truly feel how much they care — not just about serving great food, but about making sure everyone has a wonderful experience.

We had Kabab Koobideh, and it was sooo delicious — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled! We also tried Zeytoon Parvardeh and the Iranian Moosir Yogurt, both absolutely incredible.

“I had been going there for years when I lived in Richmond hill. I’ve always enjoyed their food. I hadn’t been in quite a while due to illness and also I now live half an hour away. It’s a treat for me to be able to venture down for their delicious food. They’ve always had good service but it seems even better now than before. I love that they changed their takeout packaging and they switched to paper bags. They’ve changed up their salad which is nice as it’s really fresh. It’s my favourite place for Persian food.“

“After going to their yonge and weldrick location for many many years, I happened to be in north Richmond hill (yonge and king road) and saw this other location! What can I say, very friendly welcoming service, clean organized interior and very fresh quality meat. Prices are average compared to the other 500+ kabob restaurants in this area but Taftan seems to stand out simply because of their reputation and large portion sizes. Today I got the barg (filet mignon beef) combo with rice and a side order of a chicken leg skewer. And hey they even threw in free cans of pop, lots of butter packets for the rice, packets of sumac (that tangy but distinct middle eastern red spice), and a pita bread! I’ll be sure to return again.“

The store is mostly clean and they have a really good selection — most of the time I can find whatever I’m looking for, especially Iranian stuff that’s hard to get anywhere else. “I have been occasionally buying Anoush chicken rice and chicken wrap, and the food is really good. My favorite server Mohit is very accommodating and friendly as we chat a lot of times when i visit each time. I ended up adding some tips to him even i never dine-in but all take-out. Recently, he told me that temporarily there is a slight increase in price but i did not notice and it did not affect that much anyway. Mohit is just being honest as he works with integrity. Keep up the good work, buddy, an always smile to cheer us up!“
