Gold Palace Chinese Restaurant is a place that offers a broad menu with a variety of dishes. The restaurant is popular, and it can get crowded, so it's a good idea to arrive early. The service is quick and efficient, and the food has a good flavor.
The restaurant is known for its Dim Sum, and the Pan fried pork bun with vegetables and the Salt and pepper squid are popular choices. The Beef chow fun with Mongolian sauce was not as spicy or tasty as some might prefer, but the Steamed shrimp and pea sprout dumpling and the Steamed chicken feet in black bean sauce were enjoyed.
The Siu Mai with cordyceps flower and the Hargaw are large and savory, while the Tofu skin roll has a fun texture to munch on. The Cucumber with house special spicy is a grade-A dish with good-sized cucumber chunks and just the right amount of spice. The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce was a bit undercooked, but the Steamed chicken feet and the Peking Duck were both praised.
The Lobster - Hong Kong style had lots of hard shells and not a lot of meat, and the Fish and Congee combo had some issues with bones and scales in the fish chunks. However, the combo comes with a large noodle plate that has fish filet pieces with hardly any bones.
Overall, Gold Palace Chinese Restaurant offers surprisingly delicious and high-quality food. The old sign outside might not look impressive, but the food inside is worth trying.
