Went to pickup food from a order on the TooGoodToGo App for 9pm only to find it was closed early when I arrived at 8pm yet I was still charged.

A hidden gem! Have driven by many times now and only recently realized and stopped in for some fish and chips. Everything was made hot to order. The seasoning on the fish and fries was amazing! The vibes at Ago’s were immaculate; the oldies on the radio and the board games on the tables really encourage you to sit, enjoy others company and disconnect from your phone for a nice meal.

The halibut we ordered was terrible. Didn't even look like halibut. Took one bite and threw out the rest. Based on other favorable reviews, he shouldn't have sold those fish to anyone. Disappointed!

Leaving my previous comment because I did go back, tried the fish and chips, along with a peanut butter drink. The chips were slightly but well seasoned. I believe the owner gave me 2 small fish of different types. Both of which were delicious.I'll be heading there for more fish!I'm glad I didn't let the first time affect my desire to try their food.Ordered something over an app special that was to be picked up on Wednesday between noon and 9. Arrived at 6pm, no one was there. Was looking forward to trying the food. Unfortunately I didn't get to try anything. No hours are shown.Too Good to Go is the app.If you are temporarily closed you should consider turning off your Open sign. Maybe consider putting a temporarily closed sign up too. Please reach out to me when you are open again.

The food was delicious. The batter was nice and light and the fish was moist. The kids loved the home cut fries also.

Terrible . Waited forever , over 2 hours Good Friday for our fishing had ordered days in advance. Person running it told my husband if he didn’t like it to leave. In the end didn’t get any coleslaw or tartar sauce with meals. Never will we go to this place again

New owner:Ago's fish is epic. Just like my mom used to make. Seasoned and super lightly battered, cooked to flaky moist perfection with that straight outta the water flavour freshness... I will def be a two piecer next time and go light on the fries... Which are cut fresh to order.Don't ignore the tartar sauce - it's the perfect balance of creamy and acidic with fresh finely diced red onions and fresh cucumber... Knowing him, likely from around the corner at the market. Seriously that would make for a scrumptious salad dressing on a shrimp scallop fresh veg salad. As a pescitarian (fish and seafood as meat only) his products are flown / shipped in twice weekly... He will be bringing back live lobster from new Brunswick shortly - mainly sources Canadian fishermen and has a "boat to table" relationship with them (as well as a couple out of Florida)He is bringing in live bands on Fridays has Tuesday outdoor movie nights in the works and will be expanding the menu which already has a fabulous fish and seafood collection with a grilled vegetables tofu salads and more.He has big plans for that little place and new long hours 10am-midnight most days.Looking forward to trying the lobster calamari and scallops. This was a great flavour location before and now it is even better. Don't let the old boat exterior fool you, it's seasoned goodness inside.Owner friendly and informative and willing to work with dietary requirements wherever reasonably possible.Definitely worth a whirl.Adjacent to the market on the North side sharing the parking lot with antique shop right off 85.--------Prev owner:Perfectly cooked fish great batter crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Great batter to fish ratio. Fresh cut fries were respectable - good portion size not too huge not too small. Worth a try. I am local and I will be back.Seasonal business. Not open in winter.Other options too such as Chapman's icecream various other items like hot dogs and street vendor type foods. Drinks reasonably priced.

Great meal at Ago's. Owner was super friendly and very passionate about the menu. He explained all the specials and you can tell he cares about his business very much.Grilled calamari, fried cod, grilled mahi mahi and chips all cooked very well. Batter on the fried fish is VERY light, almost none. If you want it more battered, please ask for it.Hidden gem! Please note, if you want fast food, there is a McDonald's in the Walmart across the street. This is one chef in a converted boat grilling and frying a wide variety of fresh fish to order. There may be a wait, but the owner does provide games, covered and uncovered seating and music.

Based on the pictures and what I have heard it looks delicious but sadly I could not experience this because; Sunday October 09th 2022 at 4pm my wife placed a order on a food app for pic up. I then drove from the Waterloo Costco all the way to Saint Jacobs, to find out he left early and he took our money from the app. I mean I would try returning again it did leave my family and I rather disappointed

Fantastic fish and chips here.First off, you're not going to get the typical fish that is frozen and encapsulated in batter. You are going to get ever so smaller portions that are fresh and have a delectable batter that has an island spice. The chips are typical for a good fish and chips shop. Sprinkled with a spice that brings out the flavour of the fish. The chips are also not soaking with oil like most other places. All in all, give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went for dinner with my mom tonight. We got an order of calamari to start which was cooked perfectly. They were good and meaty too, not the little weak rings you get some places. I had the grilled arctic char and she had the grilled sword fish. Both came with fries, salad and a piece of corn. Everything was super fresh and all their sauces were homemade. The tarter sauce is real good and has a Caribbean twist.I love that they had old school dancehall blasting from the old boat. There is only outdoor seating but they do have a tent set up over a few picnic tables which was nice because it was raining. The guys in the boat were super friendly and very genuine. All this for just under $50 and we we're both super happy. Had roadside Caribbean vibes, but was just missing a cold red stripe. Will 100% return to try some of their other offerings. Great job guys!
