I had such a wonderful experience at Champa Kitchen in Waterloo. The service was excellent from start to finish they were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The owner was an absolute pleasure to meet, you can really feel the passion and care put into both the food and the customer experience.
The atmosphere is cozy, the dishes are full of flavour, and you’re treated like family the moment you walk in. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Champa Kitchen to everyone I know!

Our pad thai was edible but tasted nothing like the pad thai we've eaten elsewhere. The spring rolls were tiny and nothing special in terms of taste. I loved the family vibe and really wanted to like the food! But we were disappointed.

Update: I spoke to the manager (the man) on the phone. This person lacked customer service etiquette. He was extremely disrespectful, and handled the situation with hostility. He scuffled when I said I was from the legal field. He breached his employee obligation to treat customers with respect and care. All l asked for was a refund for the unsatisfactory pad thai. He acted like l asked to sell this restaurant.
This is not a matter of food quality of anymore. It is one of human decency. Rotten pedagogy. Shameful
First time going to Champa and I will DEFINITELY be back! Forget 5 stars, this is 10 stars hands down. The food was exceptional and Tim was an excellent server. Loved every second and every mouthful!! Well done!

We tried this restaurant based on the reviews and recommendations which I think are overhyped. There was a lot of choice on the menu including Thai, Vietnamese and Laotian. We tried the Thai and Lao menu. The Pad See Ew was overly saucy and sweet. The Lao sausage was bland and the pork and rice salad was not flavourful and served with stale peanuts. The price was excessive for what it was. I’ve been to South East Asia several times so very familiar with the cuisine there was far from comparable. The server was courteous, the restaurant was clean and the food came out quickly. It’s just not the place for us.

We’ve been coming to Champa for several months now, and during all this time there hasn’t been a single negative experience. The food is always deliciously prepared. The welcome is always warm and friendly, which makes you feel very comfortable. The interior and renovation aren’t the newest, but all the other advantages more than make up for that. We especially love their Sticky Mango Rice — we order it absolutely every time we visit this café. We also really like their Thai coffee with condensed milk. This time, as shown in the photo, we also ordered the teriyaki salmon and chicken.
