Dutchie's Fresh Market - Grocery Store in Waterloo

Found guilty of 13 counts of wage theft. For this reason one I will never shop at a dutchies. One single previous visit, we found the store to be dirty and food wasow quality. That couples with the poor ethics and blatant disregard for employees..... We will never shop here

I've shopped here numerous times, and it's really beneficial for me since I'm on a very tight budget. It is very cheap produce and fruit since I don't eat meat, and can usually find decent produce. I find some days are better than others for veggies and fruit.

Fruits, veggies, eggs and sometimes meat are available cheaper than other stores. But it is better to check the products well before buying them.

Horrible store, the food goes rotten in a day or less. He owes hundreds of old staff members money. He owes suppliers money. He owes trades workers who renovated the 2 stores that shut down and the new one. The owner screams at his staff for no reason. Horrible atmosphere and Horrible place to work

Very fresh and seasonal produce. I’ve been shopping for groceries here for over ten years. Delicious!

Some of their prices are really good, yes, and this day and age this means a lot. However, I’ve been here 3 times. Their produce is fine for the most part and their fruits. Their drumsticks and wings smell of some weird chemical, my husband and I just couldn’t eat them. Not if rotten mean but something else, we had to throw out pounds of wings. The chicken breasts are okay, they do not have this smell at all. The steaks and ok, obviously not premium. No problem with ground beef.
So definitely do not get wings or drumsticks. Even after washing with vinegar they’re weird.
I did ask an employee if they get paid and they do, since I’ve seen many comments about that.

Used to be a really awesome grocery, but went really downhill with quality. I also understand that they mistreat their employees and fail to pay some of their suppliers, which would make me not want to support them even if they were as good as years ago.

Something has happened to this place in recent times, I believe it is preparing to be shut down after new (foreign) ownership, but it's still open for business.

There is no excuse for selling expired avocados and other fresh items. I may be wrong, but I believe meat is not supposed to look like this.

I used to love this place. It's been a long time since I came in and as soon as I walked in all I could notice was the smell of rotten meat and sewage and the place was extremely dirty and half the shelves were empty. I turned around and left

I have found this place to look sketchy, feel sketchy and now their is a review where it says the owner/manager is not paying staff.
