Grampa's Pretzels inside Peddler's Village is an absolute must-try when you're at the St Jacobs Market! Even if you're not typically a pretzel enthusiast, this place will convert you. While you won't find any actual grandpas on site, what you will discover is a team of three generations of skilled women meticulously crafting the ultimate soft pretzels right before your eyes. From shaping the dough to the boiling and baking process, it's a mesmerizing experience. Be prepared to wait in line for about 20 minutes to place your order, but trust me, it's worth it. Grampa's offers options, including sugar cinnamon and the classic butter and salt. They even provide a side package of mustard if that's your preference. What sets these pretzels apart is their perfect soft chewiness, unlike the typical hard, snack-type pretzels you might be used to. And they don't skimp on portions here - you'll receive a generous serving. Most patrons don't settle for just one; it's common to see people buying multiple pretzels. So, if you find yourself in line, embrace the opportunity to get a few more of these treats! Grab a beer from TWB across from it to complement that pretzel. As many shops in this area, it's just a counter but there's a few spots to sit inside the Peddler's Village and also outdoor patio seating.

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST SOFT PRETZEL JOINT IN KITCHENER-WATERLOO-CAMBRIDGE!!! MAYBE ONE OF THE BEST IN ONTARIO!! These pretzels are to die for, they come hot and fresh and are being made consistently all day. The ladies that work there are always very kind and the service is fast. If you are coming to St. Jacobs Market in Waterloo, Ontario…you need to get a Grampa’s Pretzel !!

The long lineup attracted me to try their $4 plain pretzel. The size of the pretzel was quite big, however, it was salty.

Had a regular pretzel today and can't stop thinking about it! The BEST pretzel I've had! It was so fresh with a slight crisp on the outside where the pretzel cooked on the baking sheet. Not over done, perfect amount of salt and a noticeable hint of butter. I normally like dip, but these are so great on their own because of the great flavour (but I also had a garlic dip I bought from another vendor and used and it was good with that too). Highly recommended! I can't wait to get another one!
