This place is such a vibe and my go to on a night out!! Always a great time at hop! Maggie is such an attentive server and was such a sweetheart, really made the experience so much better. All the bartenders treat you with such great service as well. Highly recommend!!!

Boy oh boy… where do I begin? Brought some friends from out of town to the hop house patio (all of our first times), and we were genuinely blown away. A patio like this belongs somewhere in Toronto, or Paris, or something - who woulda thought something so cool would be tucked away in uptown Waterloo. Food rocked! Drinks were crisp, And the staff were excellent.

BEST SPORTS BAR IN WATERLOO!! Always a good vibe, good people and fun staff. Staff is friendly, bubbly, outgoing and helpful. Staff is also knowledgeable about all 48 Drafts plus cans, they also support a lot of local breweries if you are having trouble figuring out what to eat. Security is always on point to keep everyone safe and kick the a-holes out, they don’t tolerate women being disrespected at all! Always feel safe here alone as a woman or with a group of girls. Lots of food options. Nachos are the best in the city by far. The wonton nachos are my favourite. Great locally small owned bar if you’re trying to support more local!

This place needs people with thought at the door. Myself from British Columbia and another from Nova Scotia both from separate parties were refused because they won't accept any out of province IDs. Both of us have multiple pieces of ID with proof. We had never been before and likely won't ever again. Ontario elitism at its finest.

I love the beer selection, I love the atmosphere, food was solid, but when I booked a reservation for a hockey game, and specified that I wanted to stay for the game, we were kicked out after 2 hours despite of this, with no indication of requirement to book extended reservation.
EDIT: Hop House has since called me, apologized, corrected the error on the booking website, and offered my friends and I another reservation at a date of my choosing with our food and beer free of charge. This is an incredible follow up that I was not expecting and I applaud their service.
