I am a little confused as to why I got kicked out of this place. I've been a long time patron and after my second beer on a Friday night(clearly sober, even the bouncer was confused) I was kicked out by staff for no reason. I asked for a reason and was given none. Off duty staff were also confused as well as to why I was kicked out. I've been going here for years. I'm sad to say I won't come again. I didn't cause any issues and as someone who has a smart serve, I'm just confused. It's a private establishment and I understand it's their right, but when I have been coming here for 5+ years, it's a little disheartening to be kicked out after my second cours original. I hope the power tripp was worth it. Jane bond and ethel's will be my new pub, they at least deserve my money.

i always have the best experience at hop house thanks to maggie. she’s super friendly, fast, and knows exactly how to make your drink perfect every time. her energy makes the whole place feel welcoming and fun. if you’re grabbing a drink here, definitely go to maggie — she’s one of the reasons i keep coming back.

Stumbled upon this place to watch the jays game and boy was it ever the place to do it! Awesome atmosphere and staff, the screens were huge and plenty to see from around the restaurant. Plenty of washroom stalls. Music bingo night was also so fun! The steak sandwich was amazing. Moist, flavourful. The Nashville chicken sandwich was pretty bad though. Dry and unseasoned. Honey garlic chicken always hits!

We visited The Hop House yesterday to celebrate a birthday and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Despite no one in our group being intoxicated or acting inappropriately, we were cut off after just one drink — with no clear explanation given. The only possible issue seemed to arise when we added a chair to the end of our table. We were promptly told to move it due to fire safety regulations, which we did without issue. One person in our group made a passing comment questioning whether it was truly a concern, but it was not confrontational or disrespectful. Given the abrupt service and lack of hospitality, we decided to take our celebration elsewhere. We went to Kentucky Bourbon, where we had dinner, enjoyed additional drinks, and received excellent service. With so many great venues to choose from in uptown Waterloo, we won’t be returning to The Hop House. This experience was disappointing, especially on what was meant to be a celebratory occasion.
