It feels like walking in the piece of history of Waterloo. It is located right on king st in uptown in a very beautiful old architectural building.

The coffee shop was full when I visited but there was a special area which I never knew they had and it had pool and snooker tables which was fun with old arcade machines. I ordered coffee which was average and a chocolate cake slice which was so inedible and only thing I could taste was artificial flavour of chocolate and sugar and the cake was not even moist or tasted fresh.

I would definitely visit again to try some other things though.

My friend and ordered pizzas and waited over an hour to get them. By the time it came we realized it had probably been sitting getting cold and the someone stuck it back in the oven after we complained about waiting so long. I had ordered 5 toppings and there were barely a scattering of that looked like floor sweepings. Today as I try to reheat the leftovers I can find no cheese whatsoever. An entire inch of soggy dough rounded out the experience. If I could give a negative number review I would. Never again. Absolutely awful.

Came in at 6:30pm (only 5 people in the restaurant) waited over an hour for ONE out of 3 appetizers with still no drinks wasn’t until 20 mins later our food was delivered (2 salads and spinach dip)with our drinks. Food was pretty good. My mom and I asked for another water and the waitress never came back. And as it wasn’t busy at all when a family came in, staff made faces at them and rolled their eyes. Don’t come here if you want a good experience, left as soon as we finished at 8:20…

Paradise lost

Just came back from New Year’s Eve party from jazz room in Huether Hotel. I must say it was disappointing . Food was bland , underwhelming , and clearly made by someone who is not a chef . You don’t put raw red onion inside curry dish . Their mushroom soup tasted like came right from a can. Service was so slow . We didn’t get our dinner until 9:30 pm while half of the venue was eating their desert. where we were sitting close to the door , smelled like Sewage. I wonder what health and safety inspector has to say about this .
We paid 140 dollar for this disaster. We left early and decided to come home and ring in the new year with our cat instead.

My wife and I paid $140 each for the most disappointing New Years event at the Jazz Room in the Heuther. All the patrons arrived at 6:30 as advertised. We were not allowed entry until after 7:00 pm. Our server complained to all customers that we arrived at the same time. Half of the room received their meals and were being served desert before our area even had appetizers and drinks. We did not receive our main course until 9:30 which was after the dinner music musicians finished their set. The food was abysmal; the chicken curry was strips of frozen chicken on top of rice mixed with coconut milk, topped with a raw salad of red onion chunks and green pepper, surrounded by pita bread wedges. What kind of fusion cuisine is this? The salmon was a very small portion served with unseasoned rice, nearly raw veggies, and a salad with no dressing or seasoning. The entire event was a disorganized disaster and the customers were obviously not impressed. Everyone pre-paid and pre-ordered their meal of preference, but the kitchen and staff failed to deliver. Icing on the proverbial cake was the prevalent smell of sewage and feces in the environment, and wobbly chairs. The Huether needs to up their game and give customers what they are paying for. The Jazz Room provides great entertainment independent of the Heuther, but the host needs to get their act together.

Met with a small group of people (11-12) today and the food was cold and took way too long to be served. Chances are it was sitting unattended and that’s why it was cold. Not impressed.

We live on the west coast now but the Huether is always the place we return to during our visits to Waterloo. This place has it all. Over the years, we’ve done long study sessions in their cozy cafe, enjoyed brunch with friends, gone on date nights in the Jazz room, held large birthday parties in their various rooms/sections, and appreciated the pool room. We are grateful now to be able to come back and share the Huether with our small children. The Huether is Waterloo, for us.🤍

I absolutely love The Huether! It’s a beautiful historic building, the staff are so friendly and food is to die for. I specifically would like to shout out Bella for the excellent service and drinks as well as Bernie for being an absolute pleasure to deal with. We ordered a pizza and it was genuinely one of the best I’ve had 10/10.

Gather the troops! It’s Monday wing night at Heuther! Better yet don’t gather the troops! This establishment is a joke! 11$ for a pound of wings but if you get two pounds you’re charged the regular price for two pounds! I will never be back! Can’t wait for this place to be closed down and become a high rise condo unit! The region needs more affordable housing or better yet maybe a paintball arena!
