Great for Celiacs!
I used to go to Mel's all the time as a student. Then I stopped when I was diagnosed with Celiac and I then had a very bad episode. This was years ago, long before COVID.
NOW, they have completely redeemed themselves and then some! They have a great GF menu and try very hard to ensure safety. I felt great after eating and the burgers are just as I remember.
Pretty sure the GF bun was from O'Doughs, so it could be better (especially with all the great GF bakeries around). But they clearly toasted it on the grill so it was really good.
Glad to be able to come back to this old haunt again.

The aesthetic is an old timey American diner and it's very cute. They no longer have the free jukebox which sucks cuz it was my favorite part but I still think it's cool they have one. The food is a bit over priced in my opinion but im biased because I think pretty much anytime diner is over priced. The staff are always really nice and it's a staple I bring my friends from other cities too. For the people that eat halal a lot of their chicken is actully halal even if it doesn't say so, just ask a waitresses.

Was so looking forward to eat at Mel’s diner , walked in on a Sunday at 9pm . About 3 tables occupied . The young waitress was busy talking to a client at a table . The signs said please wait to be seated. Me and my family stood at the door for about 5 mins. The waitress did not acknowledge us , didn’t seem to care , may be it was closed to closing continued talking to the customer at the table.. we stood there for 5 mins.. and then left.. to eat elsewhere .

usually i love it here. last time i went i told them i wanted my eggs poached soft and they said “the eggs come poached soft” in a mean way. so i was like ok. then i went and picked up my food. opened up the box. grabbed a fork. ready to dig in. and guess what. to my absolute horror the eggs were poached so hard they were basically boiled eggs. this ruined the experience for me.
