I really enjoyed the French onion soup as well as the raspberry Mojito however, the mushroom pizza wasn't my favorite. It had a really strong odor to it, but that might just be personal preference. I absolutely loved the decor in the overall ambience. It felt really cozy but classy at the same time.
Heidi was an excellent server. The pacing of service was good and her wine selection hit the mark.
What a fantastic evening to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and quickly sat at a nice corner bench table. Ryan our server was exceptional-he helped walk us through the cocktail and food menu and offered suggestions on some favourite items. We started with a glass of bubbly and a cocktail with some appetizers, ending with a perfectly cooked filet and fall apart short ribs. We couldn't ask for anything else. A great way to celebrate our anniversary. Can't wait to go back.
The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu offers a variety of tasty options that cater to different preferences. Service is prompt, and the overall experience is enjoyable. A great spot in uptown Waterloo, never disappoints.
The outside porch is beautiful. The service is very good. We had a shrimp linguini that was very good and a house salad with salmon. The salmon was perfectly prepared but the salad was basically just a bunch of green leaves and some of them seemed rather "tired". Charging $15 for such a salad (the salmon is an additional $13) is a bit annoying. Still, an overall enjoyable lunch.
3 of the 4 of us ordered the same entree. 2 good, 3rd mainly fat vs meat. Did get a replacement but others had already finished dinner. We were buying wine to share with the other couple. Without being asked, the wine cost was split between 2 couples. Fdisappointing.
The food was dismal and shoddily prepared. Steak was cold and dry. Salad was made like a toddler with no attention to aesthetic or flavour profile. Escargot were drowning in butter and mushrooms. So disappointing. Serving staff did the best they could with the situation and were very helpful.
The food wasn't nearly as good as in past. The salad had yellowed leaves, dry and tough grilled chicken and generally not great. I miss the pear and pistachio salad! The scallops were salty and given the price, not enough.
The service was fantastic, we always have the same server and he does a wonderful job. The food, as always, was delicious. No complaints, especially with the patio seating (it is by far the best patio in KW)
This was the first time we were back at Sole after the purchase by Charcoal Group. I went in with expectations that Sole would no longer be the same “small/family owned restaurant” vibe and would have lost its charm. My oh my was I pleasantly surprised - Sole has gotten even better than what it was before. The renovations are beautiful and the interior/patio got a nice upgrade while maintaining the same feel. The patio is absolutely stunning and feels like you're in Europe. Service was exceptional and food was absolutely delicious - the menu has gotten a nice refresh without losing some key staple items. I would go as far as saying that Sole is now “Toronto” quality and the best restaurant in KW. I can't wait to come back!

Service is key in a restaurant. Was not disappointed. Teo our server was very good with just the right amount of attention.
Another great meal at Sole. One of if not the the best restaurants in the region of Waterloo.
Spur of the moment/didn't feel like cooking/let's find a terrace decision. No regrets whatsoever. Salade nicoise - tuna beautifully prepared and the truffle oil raised it to a new level. Shrimp ceviche lovely flavours enhanced by cilantro and spice; perhaps a bit too much dressing but I quibble. Very interesting beers on tap: Averbode Belgian Abbey Ale. Beautiful evening for the terrace; reasonably quiet despite Erb street 50 meters away.
Anniversary dinner with the wife. This experience was amazing . The manager was very accommodating when we asked to change tables. The food and drinks were incredible as well as the staff . Great time!
Awesome meal, large portions and unexpected generosity (split a salad 3 ways and gave three large salads.
Filip was attentive and we were visited by 4 separate staff all helping the table selflessly. Blue cheese and pear pizza, sausage pizza, chicken flatbed sandwich and eggs Benedict all recommended.
Delicious food fantastic service and a nicely set atmosphere.
Thank you all. We’ll be back.
Also Filip don’t let mom pay next time.
