Normally a good place, but recently hired some miserable employees. Maybe it's because of COVID?Not worth opening in the mean time to ruin your reputation, in my humble opinion.
There shaved ice is the best in the country. I liked mango no so sweet it’s just perfect.
Average yet aesthetic desserts and savoury items. Same as the other locations pretty much. Good if you're just craving something sweet and want to sit and chat with friends...Especially since service is pretty slow. Every time I go the staff is sitting at another table (as if they're customers) just chatting. It's probably not busy very often so they're used to moving at a slow pace lol.
I took out two bingsu yesterday. The lady was unfriendly, but I gave her tips because it is hard to work with wearing a mask. However, when I opened the bingsu.. I was so surprised. It didn't have any ice. It was like milk tea or just a bowl of syrup. Fruits were floating on the liquid. It was so disappointing... I only walked from there to Blair house to have it. Even one star is not worth for the bingsu. If you take out bingsu there, I highly recommend you to open it before leaving the restaurant!!!
Really tasty food, but took a little long to get to the table. It's a small shop located in Linden square next to coco.
Nice tiramisu and Oreo drink
I wanted to try something different, a different cuisine. Was scrolling through the menu and came across the marshmallow toast, at first I thought, oh just marshmallows on bread, but the price was $8.61 plus tax = $9.73 so I thought no it must be more that just that for that price! I absolutely love marshmallows so I went ahead and bought it as well as the cheesy baked curried chicken. Order came and lo and behold it really was just marshmallow on bread! A bag of marshmallows are $1 and bread is $3, the item itself cost no more than $0.50, I would've been willing to spend $3 for it, it is wayyy overpriced. The bread was dry so I only hate the 6 pieces of marshmallows. The cheesy baked dish was for around $16.50 after tax, the serving size was very small for the price. Not much tasty either. Lacks flavor. I really tried to find something positive to say but I couldnt. I gave 2 stars instead of one because maybe it's just that I'm not used to the cuisine. Nonetheless the items were overpriced and not tasty.
Went for a late night snack with friends and overall had a good experience! Service was friendly and prompt, prices were reasonable, and they had a wide selection of desserts and also savoury foods to choose from. It was a little disappointing because they were out of a lot of things and so we had to switch up our order a few times. We came later in the night though so it might be better if you went earlier in the day! The mango sago is too notch and I highly recommend the matcha shaved ice. The stewed pear with white fungus and Logan fruit was also quite good.
Decent sugar marmalade location nice if you have a craving for snacks. Most of the food is pretty good. It’s the spot for this style of snacks in Waterloo. The actual store is pretty small but doesn’t get too crowded. As with many stores in the area, it helps to pay with cash. I really like the eel toast because it hits the snack craving while acting as a meal. The sago is also pretty good.
The customer service is absolutely trash here. The guy who served us barely communicated with us. When I asked for a modification in my order, to replace my taro with grass jelly, the man said he had to "ask his manager." This man went into the back for 2 SECONDS and came back and said his manager said no. He took our order and as he was walking back in his SLIPPERS he was picking his nose while serving food. Mans were skating up in this restaurant because it was so slippery. When we got our food, the rice was uncooked and the tapioca in our bubble tea was mushy and not cooked well. He called a girl from the back to talk to us and she said she did not know and would talk to her boss. But she was supposed to be the "manager"???? Sorry??? When we asked them to not charge us for the bad food, they laughed and started talking in Mandarin in front of us. That is rude and inappropriate. In addition, they overcharged one of our meals but we left because we could not handle it because we were simply just DISGUSTED.

The cheesy curry beef rice was good. The shaved ice, even better, and there was a lot of it! First time here and will try again. As with most establishments with non local staff, communication might be an issue. I can recommend.
